Seasoned actors Angel, Christian, Mylene and Benjie reveal what they see as major ‘red flags’ on set

We usually see seasoned actors Angel Aquino, Christian Vasquez, Mylene Dizon, and Benjie Paras in intense drama roles where they dive deep into heavy emotions, well, except maybe for Benjie, who&rsquo;s more of the funny guy. But every now and then, even senior stars crave something lighter, like a rom-com!And that&#39;s exactly what they&#39;re giving us in the DonBelle-starrer &ldquo;<a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/articles-news/donbelle-brings-kilig-fever-in-abs-cbn-and-vius-how-to-spot-a-red-flag-23383" target="_blank">How To Spot A Red Flag</a>,&rdquo; a fresh and fun series that&#39;s sure to have you laughing, swooning, and maybe even spotting a few red flags of your own.In the story, Angel plays Marian, a single mom to Donny Pangilinan&rsquo;s character, hence, Marian is a bit clingy, but very supportive of her son. Christian plays a strict businessman and a dedicated dad to JR played by Jameson Blake. Meanwhile, Mylene and Benjie portray the parents of Belle&rsquo;s character, and their family is laid-back and happy living by the beach. They run a surfing business where they offer lessons and experiences to people visiting the resort. It&rsquo;s such a light-hearted vibe for their on-screen family, and this dynamic isn&rsquo;t far from the &lsquo;second family&rsquo; the cast formed behind the scenes.Benjie, who is working with DonBelle for the first time, said it was such a pressure-free experience collaborating with the Kapamilya loveteam, &quot;Sa start pa lang no&#39;ng nagkasama kami during the presscon, nakita ko na maganda &#39;yung itatakbo nitong series na &#39;to.&rdquo; Christian chimed in, agreeing, &quot;Kaunti na lang parang laro na &lsquo;yung ginagawa namin.&rdquo;In Mylene&rsquo;s words, working with DonBelle was &quot;cute.&quot; She added, &quot;Napaka-sweet nilang dalawa. Hindi sila fake about it.&quot;The location in La Union might be far, but the cast always looked forward to going to work because the set was so full of happy energy, making it a total win-win situation. For the quartet, bringing the series to life was such an enjoyable, easygoing process. As Angel revealed, it was all good vibes on set, especially with Mylene around, who&rsquo;s like a ball of sunshine.As the more experienced artistas, they&rsquo;re often expected to guide the younger stars, but Mylene said it really depends on the situation. Some actors don&rsquo;t like being interrupted, so they have to gauge the moment and know how to read the room. Angel added, &ldquo;Parang acting lang din &#39;yan, pakiramdaman. Mararamdaman mo rin kung kailangan nila ng advice.&quot;For Christian, it&rsquo;s often better to wait until the youngsters ask for help before offering some tips. And when they do give pointers, they keep it very subtle, like suggesting where to pause in a line delivery to give their co-actor a chance to land a punchline. This is especially important during funny scenes, says Benjie, because timing is everything in comedy.As for DonBelle, the senior cast didn&rsquo;t feel the need to give them big pieces of advice because they always came to set well-prepared; same goes for Esnyr Ranollo, who plays Belle&rsquo;s best friend in the story.&quot;Alam nila &#39;yung ginagawa nila. It also helped that the director, Dwein Baltazar, allowed them to execute the scenes in their own style. This free-flow approach made everyone feel comfortable, though Direk Dwein would step in and give further instructions if something needed adjustment.In keeping with the show&rsquo;s theme, Kapamilya Chat asked the guests what they consider the biggest red flag in a person, and they all agreed: being a liar. This includes being a mambobola or overly flattering, with Benjie adding that it also extends to being plastic&nbsp;or acting friendly to your face but treating you as an enemy behind your back. And honestly, one shouldn&rsquo;t even try lying to these actors because, as Mylene puts it, &quot;Artista kami, basang-basa namin &#39;yan.&quot;From a professional or work perspective, Christian pointed out that showing up on set unprepared is a major red flag for him.
