It’s no secret that some of the strongest friendships are born in the “Pinoy Big Brother” house. And this holds true for the “PBB Gen 11” squad. These days, we often see them hanging out together, sharing moments through photos on social media that prove their friendship has only deepened since the show wrapped up.

During their guesting on “Kuan On One,” the Bisaya talk show hosted by Melai Cantiveros, Jas Dudley-Scales from Dumaguete and Binsoy Namoca from South Cotobato revealed that they’ve got a PBB chat group, likely created by second evictee Marc Nanninga, Jr., which keeps the housemates in touch.

Their bond didn’t start after they left the PBB house, though. Even inside the house, Jas and Binsoy became good friends, thanks to their shared BisDak roots. When asked their first impressions of each other, Jas revealed that she noticed Binsoy's energy right away, while he found her so angelic.

Kuantie Melai also asked her guests about their audition stories. Here, Binsoy shared that he traveled for over an hour on his friend’s motorcycle to the venue, and then went home immediately thinking he was done for the day. But as soon as he arrived home, he received a call informing him there was another part to the process, so he had to head back to the venue.

Jas, on the other hand, grew up watching PBB with her family. Her mom would jokingly say that she could be the next to represent Dumaguete after Beauty Gonzalez joined the “PBB Teen Edition Plus” batch. While Jas didn’t initially think it was possible, especially since she had no plans of leaving Dumaguete, the thought stayed with her and grew into a dream.

Then, as if the universe had other plans, she found herself in Manila, working for a fashion magazine. Her friends convinced her to join them at the “PBB Gen 11” audition and made sure she could go along despite her being exhausted from a long day at work.  That’s why she would often say that the stars just aligned; she was at the right place, at the right time, with the right people.

Like many housemates, Jas and Binsoy experienced their fair share of controversies. Jas faced hate comments after a heated rap battle with the season's Big Winner, Fyang Smith, which became one of the most talked-about episodes of the reality show. But, as we saw in the succeeding episode, she took responsibility for her actions upon realizing that she must show humility and learn from her mistakes, especially as the ‘Ate’ of the group. She admits that she had feelings of guilt and regret after that incident, saying, “Mafo-forgive ko pa rin anyone who hurts me. Pero kapag ako na ang naka-hurt, hindi ko ma-forgive ang sarili ko.”

Binsoy, meanwhile, faced criticism for sharing his life’s hardships, with some accusing him of using his poverty to gain sympathy votes. However, Binsoy explains that he was simply being true to himself and sharing his real-life experiences. For him, it was important to be authentic, and he doesn’t regret opening up about his story to the public.

Jas and Binsoy also opened up about the joys and struggles of being an ‘Ate’ and ‘Kuya.’ Since both have heartfelt stories as eldest siblings, it was only fitting that they took on a fun yet relatable challenge in the "Dakong Problema" segment. The challenge had them acting out common scenarios faced by “Kuya” or “Ate” while sharing how they would handle them.

In one scenario, they showed how to address the sensitive issue of sibling comparisons, which is certainly a tricky conversation every eldest knows all too well. Another scenario had them dealing with bunso’s frustration after being told by mom that they couldn’t hang out with friends. And the last scenario was about the youngest sibling complaining about always getting hand-me-downs.

Binsoy brought his comedic flair to the challenge with his hilarious one-liners and playful negotiation tactics with ‘Kuantie’ Melai, who played their youngest sibling in the skits. Meanwhile, Jas showcased her no-nonsense approach with her tough-love advice, channeling her inner disciplinarian.

Whether it’s hustling to provide for the family, like Binsoy, or stepping up as a second parent, like Jas, being the eldest sibling is about having the heart and strength to support and care for their loved ones.
