Kim Chiu thanks “ASAP” for helping her become a confident performer

A teen with big dreams, fresh out of &quot;Pinoy Big Brother,&quot; she only hoped she’d get the chance to be called an &#x27;artista.&#x27; She didn’t know then that &quot;<a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/studios/tv/asap" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><u><strong><em>ASAP</em></strong></u></a>&quot; would become her training ground and eventually, her second home.</p><p>Almost two decades later, that teen dreamer is now “ASAP”’s Queen of the Dancefloor. One of the biggest reasons she joined the first teen edition of &quot;PBB&quot; was because she wanted to experience what it was like to be seen on television, just like the stars she admired. That&#x27;s why she will never forget one of her earliest appearances on &quot;ASAP&quot; for Star Magic&#x27;s anniversary celebration in 2006. She remembers being starstruck by the artists she saw on set. “Nineteen years ago, lagi &#x27;tong nakatatak sa isip ko… Ang daming artista! Kristine Hermosa, Diether Ocampo, Piolo Pascual, isama mo pa sina Shaina Magdayao, Maja Salvador…”</p><div><iframe width="853" height="480" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/-2ggh9xgcEw" title="Kim Chiu thanks fans during her birthday celebration | ASAP" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe></div><p>She also considers &quot;<a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/studios/tv/asap" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><strong><u><em>ASAP</em></u></strong></a>&quot; shows abroad as some of her favorite memories. For Kim, there’s nothing quite like the feeling entertaining and bringing a piece of home to overseas Filipinos, and she especially feels moved whenever everyone gathers to sing the national anthem together. The emotions and goosebumps are unlike anything else.</p><p>As she looks back on her journey, Kim knows she wouldn’t be the performer she is today without the years she spent growing on the &quot;<a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/studios/tv/asap" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><u><em><strong>ASAP</strong></em></u></a>&#x27; stage. And to the show that helped shape her, she offers the simplest yet most heartfelt message: “Thank you so much for bringing Kim Chiu in me as a performer.”</p>
