As a member of one of the biggest and hottest Pinoy Pop groups in the country, BINI, there’s no doubt that Sheena Catacutan can definitely slay in singing and dancing. However, she’s able to prove that she can also impress in acting as she narrated her own life in the latest episode of “<a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/studios/tv/maalaala-mo-kaya">Maalaala Mo Kaya</a>” entitled “Camera.”But before soaring to immense stardom alongside other BINIs, Sheena actually used to live a simple yet happy life in Isabela together with her lovable and vivacious family, comprised of her Mommy Angelyn (Angelica Panganiban), Amma Edita (Malou de Guzman), Ampa Luis (Bembol Roco), Kuya Sean (Drake Alessio Manlapaz/Aljon Mendoza), and their househelper Ate Baquet (Tart Carlos). Apparently, it’s from them that Sheena got her vibrant personality, which is one of the things that “Blooms”—as BINI’s fans are called—certainly love about her.She and her Kuya Sean might have never received at least an ounce of love, care, and support from their absentee father, Peter (Mac Manicad), yet Angelyn, who worked as a librarian, was able to fill the void that he had left in them by providing their needs the best way that she could. With how supportive she was with Sheena’s participation in various kiddie pageants and interest in Korean pop culture, she was undoubtedly a certified “awesome stage mom.”Angelyn, who was the original one to affectionately call her “bebe,” further showed her support to her children by enrolling them in singing and dancing workshops, which led to Sheena eventually becoming a part of a local dance crew in her teenage years. It was also Angelyn who convinced and pushed Sheena to audition for Star Hunt since the latter was hesitant at first, yet she was able to impress the talent scouts and subsequently receive a callback.Ever since her auditions and callback, Angelyn had been with Sheena every step of the way until she made it to “Pinoy Big Brother Otso” at the age of 14 and was dubbed as “The Dance-Irella of Isabella.” Her journey inside Bahay ni Kuya might have been cut short after she got evicted, yet a bigger opportunity came to her in the outside world, as she became one of the official trainees of Star Hunt Academy, ABS-CBN’s idol training camp.Sheena’s determination to make her and her mom’s dream come true was once again tested when the COVID-19 pandemic hit the Philippines, as well as when ABS-CBN lost its franchise in 2020.
