We have surely seen a lot of adorable boy-girl tandems on-screen through the years that we’ve been watching ABS-CBN teleseryes, some of which we’ve loved so much due to their palpable, oozing, and innate chemistry.  And for sure, many will agree that among them is the unforgettable onscreen partnership of Coco Martin and Maja Salvador in the long-running action-drama series “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano,” through which they amused and enthralled us with their impeccable portrayals of best friends-slash-colleagues Ricardo “Cardo” Dalisay and Glenda “Glen” Corpuz. It served as their reunion project, four years after working together in the 2011 teleserye “Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin.”  A decade may have already passed, yet ardent shippers of Cardo and Glen probably haven’t moved on yet from their pairing and the series. Thus, as a way of celebrating one of the most iconic series in recent Philippine television history and the most remarkable onscreen pairs, let us look back on some of the endearing moments in Cardo and Glen’s enduring and lovable friendship in this feature! Just looking at the photos in this gallery taken during their photoshoot for “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano,” we can already see (and even feel) the chemistry between Maja and Coco. And they were able to bring that in their portrayals of their well-loved characters, who were actually best friends ever since both of them were still living in Botolan, Zambales, along with their very cute little friend and Cardo’s mischievous sidekick Onyok, whom they had considered as their barkdada. Their reunion was not merry at first since Cardo had to pretend that he didn’t know Glen for the sake of succeeding in his mission of taking the place of his estranged twin brother, Ador. Yet they went on to share a lot of fun and relatable memories together. And those moments were marked by Daryl Ong’s rendition of “Basta’t Kasama Kita,” which served as their tandem’s theme song.  From being mere besties, Cardo and Glen went on to become partners in various missions. Arguably, one of their most memorable missions together was when they transformed into a rich couple for their mission of catching the notorious Budol-Budol Gang. They took inspiration from famous celebrities Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, who were still one of the A-list Hollywood couples at the time.  They indeed amused and amazed viewers with their guise, with both of them dressing to the nines, which was totally different from how they usually appear. They may be quite over the top when it comes to their fashion and behavior, yet Cardo and Glen just gave us the right amount of comedy. Of course, since Glen had an unrequited love towards Cardo, she truly nailed and enjoyed acting as his wife, lovingly addressing each other as “darling” (with accent!).  Cardo had known Glen so well and so long that he had entrusted his family to her while he was in Hong Kong for his new assignment. Besides, it was also easy for him to sense or figure out if something was troubling her, and she was the same towards him as well. It was on the August 4, 2016 episode when viewers got to see Glen for the last time, as she bade farewell to return to their hometown of Botolan, Zambales, to take care of her ill mother. Aside from their notable chemistry, other reasons why the partnership of Cardo and Glen was a hit among a lot of “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” viewers could be how relatable their characters and story were, as well as how entertaining they were to watch. Does this make you miss the team-up of Coco Martin and Maja Salvador, both as CocoJam and Cardo-Glen, Kapamilya?
