“ASAP” celebrates milestones with Bamboo-Marko, Maymay-James collab, plus throwback to Robi’s Gigger Boys era

Thirty years in, the rhythm still feels as fresh and exciting as the very first beat.</p><p>After conquering “<em>ASAP in England</em>,” the show&#x27;s 30th anniversary groove continues to pulse through another jam-packed Sunday of all-out performances and good vibes.</p><p>The “<a href="http://asap.abs-cbn.com"><strong><u>ASAP</u></strong></a>” September 21 episode kicks off with a milestone performance that sets the tone right away. For the first time ever, Rock Royalty Bamboo and &quot;<em>Tawag Ng Tanghalan</em>&quot; champ Marko Rudio join forces onstage, rocking out to “Walk This Way.”  </p><p>After the ‘rakrakan’ opener, the show brings sunshine onstage as the “<a href="http://asap.abs-cbn.com"><strong><u>ASAP</u></strong></a>” Kapamilyas step out in matchy vibrant outfits, singing the chorus of “Step Into the Rhythm.&quot;  Martin Nievera then takes the spotlight with his rendition of “Best Day of My Life,” before Alexa Ilacad sweeps in with her youthful vocals. The effervescent Maymay Entrata keeps the fun going with “Happy,” her charm matched by Angeline Quinto.  </p><p>The good vibes continue as Yeng Constantino and Darren Espanto pair up for “Good Feeling.” From their usual ballads, Ogie Alcasid and Jona surprise with a lively spin on “Step Into the Rhythm&quot; before the rest of the performers join in and hype the crowd.  </p><p>After the opening prod, the cast shares their own milestones. What better way to talk about milestones than by looking at how far he’s come? From being a “<em>Pinoy Big Brother</em>” housemate, Robi has built a remarkable career as one of ABS-CBN’s premier hosts, but in this episode, he swaps hosting duties for dancing as he revisits his Gigger Boys days—his former teen group with Chris Gutierrez, Dino Imperial, Sam Concepcion, Arron Villaflor, Enchong Dee, and the late AJ Perez.</p><p>Joined by Edward Barber and Darren Espanto, he goes full boyband mode with “Quit Playing Games with My Heart,” while AC Bonifacio and Alexa Ilacad bring the 2000s throwback vibe with a high-energy dance break. After the number, Robi is joined by the squad—whom he fondly calls his &quot;anak-anakan&quot; in hosting—as he celebrates his birthday.
