As she consistently delivered astonishing, concert-level performances throughout her <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/studios/tv/2025/9/29/first-ever-grand-winner-alexa-mendoza-amazed-powerful-vocals-astonishing-performances-idol-kids-ph-0838" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">“Idol Kids Philippines” journey</a>, Alexa Mendoza was hailed as the <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/studios/tv/2025/9/29/kiddie-hopeful-alexa-crowned-first-ever-idol-kids-philippines-grand-winner-1059" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">first-ever grand winner</a> of the inaugural kiddie edition of the globally successful Idol franchise.All the grand finalists may have done fantastic jobs in their respective performances during the two-night “The Final Showdown,” yet it was Alexa who steadily dominated the competition by garnering the highest combined judges’ scores and viewers votes. Her rendition of Rivermaya’s “Kisapmata” on the first night got 98.69%, while her performances of Eraserheads’ “Ang Huling El Bimbo” and the original song “Maaabot Ko,” composed by Dennis Campañer, got 98.88%. And praying was her only ritual before taking on the stage of the “<a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/studios/tv/idol-kids-philippines" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Idol Kids PH</a>.”With regard to her inspirations in her “The Final Showdown” performances, Alexa said that it was definitely her Mama and Papa, as well as God. While her initial motivation in joining the contest was for her to be able to help her family afford to buy a car for their personal use, she went on to say this time that she actually couldn’t think of anything to utilize her cash prize for yet. However, she’s inclined to share her blessings with her classmates, especially those who lack school supplies.And lastly, when asked whom she would like to thank in her “Idol Kids” journey, she said that it’s none other than the Lord, who made it possible for her to still perform and eventually win the competition despite battling with colds and coughs during “The Final Showdown.”Way to go, Alexa!
