Audiences may have grown used to seeing Rufa Mae Quinto poke fun at herself and revel in the sheer joy of performing since <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/studios/tv/your-face-sounds-familiar">“Your Face Sounds Familiar”</a> began, but during the ninth round of the competition, she surprised everyone when she did something entirely unexpected—taking her transformation very seriously.For her portrayal of American pop star Fergie, Rufa Mae set aside her usual hilarious antics and delivered a performance that was restrained, heartfelt, and emotionally charged. While she opened her act with a familiar dose of humor—joking about how low her microphone stand was—she quickly shifted gears and went on to give a standout rendition of ‘Big Girls Don’t Cry’ that brought OG juror Gary Valenciano, mentor-slash-juror Klarisse de Guzman, and guest celebrity performer and juror Karla Estrada stand up from their seats.Probably overwhelmed either by the emotions carried by the song to which she was able to connect emotionally or by the positive reception she earned from the jury and the live studio audiences alike, Rufa Mae couldn’t help but get emotional as soon she finished singing the song.
