Taking on a teleserye that carries the weight of an entire culture is no small feat, but Gerald Anderson has never been one to take the easy road. That tension between a peaceful life and the fire to protect it drives Jalil&#x27;s entire arc. For his blood, he will stop at nothing.Opposite him is Richard Gutierrez as Marcus, the straight-edged and law-abiding government agent. Where Jalil moves from love, Marcus moves from duty. The plot is mostly anchored on the collision between these two forces, and Gerald makes no secret of how much that dynamic excites him. What happens when these two worlds meet, he says, audiences will have to see for themselves.Gerald doesn&#x27;t do shallow. Every character he takes on gets the full force of his commitment—research, immersion, and everything in between. To prepare for Jalil, he visited mosques in Zamboanga, known for its strong Islamic heritage. He also consulted with imams—the religious leaders and scholars who guide Muslim communities in their faith and daily life.When Ramadan came, he joined his Muslim brothers and sisters in fasting. &quot;Sinabayan ko &#x27;yung mga kapatid natin na Muslim,&quot; he says, honoring the practice. This culture wasn&#x27;t entirely foreign to him, as he grew up in General Santos City surrounded by Muslim neighbors, &quot;I&#x27;ve always been exposed sa kultura na &#x27;yan. Kaya nasabi ko it&#x27;s a dream role kasi nga alam ko po &#x27;yung paniniwala nila. Alam ko ‘yung pagmamahal nila sa pamilya.&quot;&quot;I take this very serious kasi it&#x27;s also isa sa mga bucket list ko. Dream role ko talaga &#x27;to.
