<p>The struggles of finding one’s place, fitting in, and feeling lost are universal problems that everyone has to confront at some point. For “<a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/studios/tv/pinoy-big-brother-collab-v2" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><strong><u><em>Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0</em></u></strong></a>” Kapamilya Big Winner Lella Ford, these dilemmas were something she had to face prior and during her stay inside Bahay Ni Kuya.</p><p>It was never Lella’s goal to achieve the ‘Big Winner’ title to begin with. In fact, she shared that she was already happy to be announced as one of the ‘Ultimate 8’ in their batch.</p><p>Nobody could have imagined that a nine-year-old child who first entered “PBB” to fetch her mother, Karla Estrada—then a celebrity houseguest—would return years later as one of the show’s housemates and become its latest Kapamilya Big Winner. Only fate could have pulled off a feat this remarkable.</p><p>In an interview with Bianca Gonzalez in “Paano Ba ‘To?!,” “<a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/studios/tv/pinoy-big-brother-collab-v2" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><strong><em><u>PBB Collab 2.0</u></em></strong></a>’s” ‘Blooming Bunso ng Tacloban’ told everything she learned from dealing with change, uncertainty, and the process of finding where she fits in.</p><div><br/></div><div><iframe width="1020" height="574" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/lKHQcEDhdwM" title="Finding Your Place… paano? with Lella Ford" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe></div><div><br/></div><div><strong>Lella on finding her space</strong></div><p>People often say, “the more, the merrier.” But for modern families in the Philippines, that isn’t always the case.</p><p>Like many Filipinos, Lella comes from a non-traditional family setup. She has siblings from both her mother’s and father’s sides, a reality she has grown to love and embrace over the years.</p><p>Her advice to those navigating a similar family arrangement was simple: recognize that every family is different. For Lella, there is no need to rush in finding where one truly belongs, as everything unfolds in its own perfect timing. “Pamilya naman kayo eh,” she said. “Kayo-kayo rin makakaintindi sa isa’t isa.”</p><p>There were moments where Lella felt she was left behind in terms of achievements compared to her siblings. Eventually, she got to use them as</p><p>her inspiration in life. She later emphasized how crucial it was to build genuine connections with your siblings, as they can be a support system you can certainly rely on.</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>Lella on fitting in</strong></div><p>Even at a young age, Lella knew to herself that she wasn’t afraid of not fitting in among her peers. Unlike most individuals, she wasn’t a ‘people pleaser’ who would get out of her way to convince people to like her.</p><p>“Ako po kasi personally, I also don’t like the feeling of… trying too hard. ‘Yung babaguhin ko sarili ko,” she opened up. “[Na] I’m gonna act a certain way para lang magustuhan ako ng tao.”</p><p>Trying to meet everybody’s expectations wasn’t something Lella had to worry about. Early on, she came to the realization that real friends won’t let you change for their own sake. They will naturally gravitate towards you for your authenticity.</p><p>“You’ll attract the best people if you just be yourself. Mas mamahalin ka ng mga tao,” she insisted, crediting her mother’s strong personality and sense of self for her profound perspective.</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>Lella on feeling lost</strong></div><p>Nobody has life all figured out. There is always that small feeling of being lost and it creeps up on everyone — even Lella. She acknowledged that it is completely normal to feel lost, but her reminder was simply not to dwell on that feeling.</p><p>She added, “Mag-focus ka sa sarili mong pacing, and just enjoy the journey of discovering yourself.” The most exciting part for her was the adventure of becoming. Lella firmly believed that everything would eventually make sense, given that everything happens for a reason.</p><p>After leaving the Big Brother house, Lella felt a little less lost and more in tune with what the universe has in store for her. Still, she refused to become complacent with what she currently has.</p><p>“Mas gusto ko ‘yung thought na I don’t know what I’m doing,” Lella pondered. “What’s next? Mas gusto ko ‘yung excitement na ganu’n.”</p><p>Despite still learning how to live under the microscope, she chose to focus on the love and support she constantly receives. As for the hate, Lella knew better than to engage and instead decided to simply drown out the noise.</p><p>For her parting words, she reminded supporters to always spread kindness and love to everyone—including her fellow housemates.</p><p>Lastly, she didn’t forget to express her gratitude to God: “Just, ‘wag na ‘wag kang mawawalan ng tiwala kay Jesus. Ako po, nawalan po ako ng tiwala sa sarili ko. ‘Yung self-esteem ko po sobrang baba. But I trusted Him,and look kung saan Niya ako dinala.”</p>
