<p>The Kapamilya community was saddened by the passing of Atty. Jose Sison on July 23. We will always remember and honor him as one of the pioneers of legal journalism who helped make legal education more accessible to Filipinos and empowered viewers with a better understanding of their rights and responsibilities under the law through his program &quot;<strong>Ipaglaban Mo!</strong>&quot;  </p><div><br/></div><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/studios/tv/2026/7/24/the-decades-long-history-of-atty-jose-sison-s-iconic-legal-drama-anthology-ipaglaban-mo-1120"><strong><u>READ: The decades-long history of Atty. He had a warm, smiley and approachable presence (perhaps one of the reasons people didn&#x27;t hesitate to seek his help and legal advice), and we got to witness that in his guest appearances on talk shows &quot;<strong><u></u>Gandang Gabi Vice<u></u></strong>&quot; and &quot;<a href="http://magandangbuhay.abs-cbn.com"><strong><u>Magandang Buhay</u></strong></a>.&quot;  </p><p>Who would&#x27;ve thought we&#x27;d catch Atty. Jose &#x27;fanboying&#x27; too? It was such a refreshing change to see him match Vice Ganda&#x27;s sparkling energy during his appearance on GGV. Joined by his son, Atty. Jopet, the elder lawyer couldn&#x27;t stop smiling and confessed that he was starstruck by the Unkabogable Superstar. </p><p>It seemed so easy for Atty. Jose to keep up with Vice&#x27;s nonstop jokes and show his low-profile, soft-spoken, and surprisingly playful side. Jose went on to share that he was expected to join the priesthood instead of pursuing a career in law. &quot;[Hindi natuloy] kasi mahilig ako sa chicks,&quot; he joked. But, as Vice put it, he fell for the most beautiful one of all, his wife, Josie, a dance instructor. Atty. Jose shared that labor law and criminal law were his strongest fields because they mostly involve underprivileged individuals who couldn&#x27;t afford to defend themselves. To end the interview, he and Jopet took part in a mock courtroom hearing where they defended who between Vice Ganda or comedian Wacky Kiray was &quot;guilty sa pagiging pangit.&quot; Atty. Jose once joined the momshies of &quot;<strong>Magandang Buhay</strong>&quot;—Melai Cantiveros, Jolina Magdangal, and Karla Estrada—for an insightful conversation, too. During the episode, he and Atty. Jopet shared free legal advice as they responded to letter sender moms seeking help with their problems.  </p><p>One of the concerns they tackled was a situation almost everyone can relate to—lending money and never getting paid back. Atty. Jose reminded viewers to always keep proof, like text messages, so it&#x27;s easier to prove that the loan actually happened. </p><p>Melai&#x27;s jokes also brought out Atty. Jose&#x27;s cheerful and smiley side throughout the interview. And then to wrap up the segment, he cleared up a common misconception about “<strong>Ipaglaban Mo!</strong>” explaining that the show wasn&#x27;t meant to give legal advice or personal opinions, instead, the program faithfully presented the Supreme Court&#x27;s rulings on each featured case. </p><div> </div><div><iframe width="913" height="543" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/PW2ZjAjn4qA" title="Magandang Buhay: Atty.
