Baninay Bautista imparts how PBB, vlogging, and love life taught her that “everything takes time”

<p>At a time when the world has become fast-paced and everything has become instant, many of us tend to feel pressured to attain the things we desire. But as we grow older, we come to realize that the world does not actually work that way because each of us has our own timeline. </p><p>This is exactly what content creator and “Pinoy Big Brother Lucky Season 7” alumna Baninay Bautista has learned in life, as she shared during her stint as an “outside guest-sider” alongside &quot;PBB All In&quot; 3rd Big Placer and promising actress<strong><u></u> <u></u></strong><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/studios/tv/2026/8/14/jane-oineza-reveals-real-reason-for-joining-pbb-2014-why-chill-relationship-with-rk-bagatsing-works-0926" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><strong><u>Jane Oineza</u></strong></a> in the third episode of the ABS-CBN Entertainment online show “Hello Outside World,” hosted by fellow “PBB” alums Bianca Gonzalez and Esnyr Ranollo. </p><div><br/></div><div><iframe width="916" height="543" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/BG_hJ6e8w8c?si=CvHNfRF8zK0A9eHK" title="YouTube video player" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe></div><div><br/></div><p>Having been the vibrant, strong-willed, and ingenious young woman that she was, Baninay became one of the most notable adult housemates of her season, which ran from 2016 to 2017 and was eventually won by teen housemate Maymay Entrata. She was given the moniker “Ang Bibang Bentang-Gueña ng Batangas,” which she explained was inspired by what her life was like before entering Bahay ni Kuya a decade ago. </p><div> </div><div><strong>On her life before PBB </strong></div><p>According to her, she started hustling and making her own way in life at 14 years old by putting up her own business. Although her father and siblings were providing for her, Baninay&#x27;s decision to hustle at such a young age stemmed from her desire to always have her own money and be able to buy the things she wanted without depending on her family. </p><p>Back when online shopping was not yet prevalent, she sold lipsticks, banana cues, and barbecues to her friends, classmates, neighbors, and schoolmates. Eventually, she took a leap of faith and borrowed ₱38,000 from her father, believing it to be his savings, to purchase a bulk order of premium shirts from a supplier she found online. Fortunately, the transaction was legit, and she was able to sell all the shirts at three times their original cost, earning approximately ₱76,000 in profit. </p><p>When asked by the hosts where she got that mindset, Baninay said that she actually didn&#x27;t know herself. What she was certain of at the time, however, was that she wanted to immediately turn 18 years old so she could finally work, since no business was willing to hire her because of her age at the time. </p><div><br/></div><div><strong>On her “PBB Lucky Season 7” stint and her life after it </strong></div><p>As the risk-taker that she has always been, Baninay once again made a risky decision in 2016 when she auditioned for &quot;PBB Lucky Season 7.&quot; Even though she was already in the final semester of her accountancy program, she still chose to join the reality show, thinking that she could always go back to school in the future, while joining “PBB” was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. </p><p>A self-confessed huge fan of “PBB” ever since its inaugural season, she related it had always been her dream to join the reality show, so she did everything she could to make it come true. She recalled creating different fan pages for her favorite housemates from each edition prior to her own batch, among them Loisa Andalio, who was Jane’s batchmate.</p><p>Although she has yet to fulfill her promise to go back to school, as life has been very hectic for her since coming out from Bahay ni Kuya, Baninay has found a new path that opened a lot of opportunities for her not just to earn more, but to also meet people and explore the world: vlogging.   </p><p>It all started when her batchmate Wil Dasovich—who is considered one of the country’s OG YouTubers—and his subscribers encouraged her to put up her own channel on the video-sharing platform. After their respective evictions, Wil offered Baninay to temporarily stay at his condominium since she had nowhere to stay in Manila at the time. Living with Wil gave her firsthand exposure to vlogging and inspired her to explore the opportunities it could provide. </p><p>She initially uploaded funny videos of herself singing despite being out of tune, before eventually trying her hand at daily vlogging. Since Instagram and Facebook Stories were not yet available at the time, vlogging became her way of documenting her experiences and sharing her everyday life.  </p><p>What began as a simple hobby eventually turned into a full-fledged career, with Wil playing a significant role in helping her establish herself on YouTube. He mentored her throughout the process, from helping her create her account and set up its monetization to encouraging his followers to subscribe to her channel, helping her easily reach 100,000 subscribers.  </p><p>Interestingly, her main goal in kickstarting her vlogging career was not really to make money out of her videos, but to simply become famous so she could secure endorsements and receive invitations to events and other opportunities that could provide her with additional income. It was only later that she discovered that the videos she had been uploading were already generating passive income for her through views. </p><p>Baninay has continued creating content ever since and has also influenced some of her friends to venture into vlogging. Now, after years of building her career through long-form videos, she&#x27;s also exploring the world of short-form content.</p><div><br/></div><div><strong>On her romance with Bont Bryan </strong></div><p>Aside from helping her grow financially and discover more about herself, vlogging also brought another meaningful chapter to Baninay’s life: her continuously blossoming romance with fellow content creator and longtime partner Bont Bryan Oropel. Six years into their relationship, they got engaged in December 2025 after he popped the question during one of their trips. </p><p>According to her, their love story began with what seemed like a chance encounter. The two met through a common friend during a trip from Manila to Batangas, although it was not actually their first meeting. Bont reminded her that they had previously crossed paths at a rave party, where he attended as an influencer while Baninay was working as a host. They even took a photo together at the event, though Baninay had already forgotten about it by the time they met again. </p><p>During the Batangas trip, Baninay recalled how their eyes met despite being seated separately, catching each other’s gaze through the side mirror. They eventually exchanged social media accounts and began interacting with each other’s stories, gradually sparking a connection. </p><p>A month later, Baninay came up with a Valentine’s Day content idea that would eventually change the course of their relationship. She planned to prank 10 or more of her friends and fellow content creators by telling each of them that she liked them, but it was only Bont who replied that he liked her, too. And, as they say, the rest is history.  </p><div><br/></div><div><strong>On her most important realization in life </strong></div><p>Bianca and Esnyr wrapped up the episode by asking both Jane and Baninay about something they wished they already knew 10 years ago, to which Baninay responded, &quot;everything takes time.&quot; </p><p>She confessed that in her early 20s, she was already in a great hurry to settle down. She wanted to have children and get married as soon as possible, as well as purchase a house with all the money she had earned at the time. She felt the pressure of rushing everything, as though she was afraid of being left behind by time. </p><p>&quot;Pero ngayong 30 na ako, sabi ko sa sarili ko, &#x27;Ah, may mga timing pala talaga siya. Kagaya ng pagpapakasal namin, [pagiging] engaged namin. Everytime dati parang lagi akong napre-pressure. Na, &#x27;Ano ba &#x27;yan, ilang taon na kami hindi pa rin siya nagpro-propose.&#x27; Sa sarili ko lang naman [sinasabi]. Pero mas maganda pala &#x27;yong timing niya, mas maganda pala &#x27;yong mga balak niya sa akin.
