The lessons Kapamilya stars would share if they were teachers

<p>While many schools have already welcomed students back in June and July, others are just opening their doors this August. Just in time for the back-to-school season, ABS-CBN Studios asked some of our favorite Kapamilya stars a fun question: &quot;If you had to teach a class, what would it be about?&quot; </p><p>From acting and sports to law, arts, cooking, and life values, their answers reveal the passions, experiences, and advocacies they would love to share beyond the spotlight. </p><div><br/></div><div><iframe width="913" height="543" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/aLf-Zebv9Hw" title="Kapamilya stars reveal the classes they&#x27;d love to teach | ABS-CBN Studios Exclusive" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe></div><div><br/></div><p>For many of them, acting would naturally be the subject of choice for them, as most of them are keen on passing on the craft of acting to other people, especially to new and aspiring actors. Versatile actress and newly signed Star Magic artist Lovi Poe may have humbly questioned if she&#x27;s credible enough to become a mentor, yet she remains open to sharing what she has learned throughout her acting journey. </p><p>&quot;<a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/studios/tv/someone-someday" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><strong>Someone, Someday</strong></a>&quot; star McCoy de Leon also hopes to impart the knowledge and lessons he gained as an actor after spending years in the entertainment industry. He thinks that an acting class would allow him to guide and help up-and-coming actors understand the realities of the craft. </p><p>While both Lovi and McCoy are still eyeing to organize acting classes, &quot;<a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/studios/tv/blood-vs-duty" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><strong>Blood vs Duty</strong></a>&quot; actor Junjun Quintana has apparently begun conducting workshops already based on a couple of his recent posts on Instagram. Aside from the technicalities, he also wants to teach his students that acting is more than just a performance because it&#x27;s also a great way to understand life. For him, acting allows people to connect with different lives, characters, and experiences—making it an essential part of art and an important part of humanity. </p><p>Junjun&#x27;s &quot;<a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/studios/tv/blood-vs-duty" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><strong>Blood vs Duty</strong></a>&quot; co-stars Elmo Magalona, Lou Yanong, River Joseph, LA Santos, Binsoy Namoca, and Gerald Anderson may not have picked acting, but they chose subjects that are closest to their hearts.  </p><p>For Elmo, he would like to share the essence of hip-hop, which is also his way of continuing the legacy and paying tribute to his late father—King of Pinoy Rap, Francis Magalona. He wants to teach the roots of hip-hop and explain that the genre was created because of real experiences and social messages. He firmly believes hip-hop is more than just style and attitude because it has history and purpose. </p><p>Lou, on the other hand, hopes to share lessons beyond modeling by teaching personality development as well. While she admits that confidence is something she continues to work on herself, she is willing to learn, grow, and figure things out together with her students. </p><p>Meanwhile, because of his love for sports and staying physically active, River would like to be a Physical Education teacher. Through teaching P.E., he believes that teaching the subject would be a way to encourage others to enjoy movement and an active lifestyle. </p><p>Since he has loved computers and computer games since he was young, LA said that he would likely choose to conduct a computer class. Indeed, his longtime interest in technology makes it a natural subject for him to share with others. </p><p>As a proud Criminology graduate who just finished his college degree earlier this year, Binsoy wishes to empower his fellow Filipinos, especially the less privileged through guiding them in knowing their rights. Having witnessed many of our <em>kababayans </em>being taken advantage of because they lack awareness of legal matters, he believes that he can empower them and help them protect themselves from those who seek to exploit them through proper education. </p><p>Over the years, Gerald hasn&#x27;t only been known for his works as an actor, but also as an Auxiliary Captain in the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG). Thus, it&#x27;s no surprise when he related that he would teach about patriotism, love for the country, and the importance of giving back to society if given the chance. For him, teaching would be an opportunity to inspire the next generation through values close to his heart. </p><p>He may be one of the most talented actors of his generation, but &quot;<a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/studios/tv/someone-someday" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><strong>Someone, Someday</strong></a>&quot; actor Miggy Jimenez is actually into Science and English. So, if he became a teacher, these are the two subjects that he would want to have classes in. </p><p>On the other hand, Miggy&#x27;s co-star Bong Gonzales would unleash his sporty side by being either a tennis or volleyball coach. However, he clarified that his lessons would be all about having fun since his experience comes from playing for enjoyment rather than at a competitive level. </p><p>“<a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/studios/tv/sigabo" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><strong>Coco Martin’s Sigabo</strong></a>” actress Arci Muñoz shared that she has always been drawn to the arts. Despite currently doing business — to which she has never expected to venture—her creative side remains a huge part of who she is. Aside from arts, she would love to teach languages as well, especially that she&#x27;s already knowledgeable of Korean, Japanese, and Spanish.  </p><p>&quot;Kuan on One&quot; host Melai Cantiveros, meanwhile, believes that the best class would be one that teaches important life values. She hopes to share “good lessons&quot; and pass on the “Prayer of St. Michael,” that she learned from a teacher who used to teach her and her classmates the Bible. </p><p>And lastly, &quot;<a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/studios/tv/2026/7/15/-the-loyalty-game-tops-prime-video-ph-1646" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><strong>The Loyalty Game</strong></a>&quot; lead star Janine Gutierrez may have played intense, remarkable characters in recent years, but she seems pretty laidback in real life. In fact, while most celebrities in this list mentioned common subjects that we&#x27;ve possibly already encountered in our lives, it&#x27;s a totally different case for the actress who would teach how to make scrambled eggs and toast.  </p><p>Since this is the meal that she often enjoys every day, Janine revealed that her cooking school experience taught her that there is actually an ideal way to prepare scrambled eggs. She further revealed that it&#x27;s a skill she happily shares with whoever comes over to her house to visit her. </p><p>These Kapamilya stars prove that their talents extend far beyond entertainment. If they ever stepped into a classroom, their students would surely learn not just skills—but also the stories, values, and experiences that shaped them. </p><p>How about you, Kapamilya?
