Her rivals Vice President Jejomar Binay, Mar Roxas, and Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte have been insulting each other during the campaign. Poe has been largely spared from any personal insults.

"Hopefully, let's raise the level of discourse," Poe said on Wednesday. "We always say that let's follow a particular standard based on issues. It's important that our countrymen, more than just hearing about soundbites, they'll actually hear a firm grasp of what their program should be or what your program is kasi talo naman dito ay mga botante."

Ang problema natin imprastraktura. Kapag nagkaroon ng mas maraming infrastructure projects, mas maraming trabaho ang malilikha."

She also mentioned the red tape in government. "Sabi nila, dito sa Pilipinas para sa isang kumpanya, halos 2 libong permits sa dami ng mga branches nila ang kailangan nilang kunin sa isang taon. Kaya naman parang walang gusto magtayo ng negosyo dito, pag wala tayong ganyan eh di walang trabaho."

"Dati, iniisip natin imposible na magkakaroon tayo ng steel industry dito sa ating bansa. Hindi pala kasi you don't necessarily have to have the raw materials here. Pwede mong i-import ang raw materials at dito, dahil sa ating skilled at young labor, pwede natin i-export na mas mataas ang kikitain natin dahil may added-value na. May isang company ng steel manufacturing, dito lang sa [pag]supply ng construction sa Pilipinas hindi na nila mafulfill, so we really need more manufacturing plants in the country and we just need to make sure that the ease of doing business is really strengthened."
