Duterte, Poe tied in new SWS mobile survey

And it's a 3-way tie in the vice-presidential race

MANILA - Sen. Grace Poe and Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte were tied in the presidential race, while Camarines Sur Rep. Leni Robredo, Sen. Ferdinand Marcos, and Sen. Chiz Escudero were in a 3-way statistical tie for the first time in the vice-presidential derby, results of a new mobile phone survey released Sunday showed.

Poe got 34 percent versus Duterte's 33 percent in the Social Weather Stations (SWS) and TV5 survey on April 13, as the campaign for general elections on May 9 entered its homestretch. The survey has a margin of error of plus/minus 4 percent.

Administration candidate Mar Roxas and Vice President Jejomar Binay of the opposition coalition trailed the front runners with 16 percent and 15 percent. Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago got one percent.

In the April 14 mobile survey for vice-president, Robredo got 30 percent, three points higher than Marcos' 27 percent, but the 3-point difference was within the 4-percent plus/minus error margin. Senator Francis Escudero was close behind with 25 percent, also within the margin of error.

They were followed by Senator Alan Peter Cayetano with 13 percent, Senator Antonio Trillanes IV with three percent, and Senator Gregorio Honasan with one percent.

Around six in ten or 61 percent said they would "definitely" not change their choice for president, 20 percent they "probably have decided" while 13 percent said they could "easily change their mind."

Roughly the same level of decisiveness was seen in voters' preference for vice president. Sixty-one percent said they would "definitely" not change their minds, 22 percent said they "probably have decided" while 11 percent said they "easily change their mind."

The poll covered 2,400 people, split equally over April 13 and 14. On the first day, 676 replied to the mobile survey, and 648 on the second day.
