Team behind 'American Chopper' unveils custom motorcycles for Okada

Photo by Kara Santos</figcaption></figure></div>MANILA -- When it comes custom motorcycles, there’s probably no bigger name than Orange County Choppers (OCC).Since 2002, millions of viewers around the world have tuned in to Discovery Channel to watch Paul Teutul Sr. and his team build some of the most beautiful two-wheeled machines on the planet in the pioneering reality show “American Chopper.” His roster of clients include Hollywood celebrities such as Steven Tyler, Will Smith, Russell Crowe, Jay Leno and even Donald Trump before he became US president.Last Monday, during the New Year’s Eve festivities, two OCC choppers were unveiled in the Philippines by no less than Teutul himself for Okada Manila’s Wheels & Fortune grand raffle promo. In a media interview with ABS-CBN Online prior to the unveiling, Teutul said that though he’s been into custom building choppers for the past 45 years, he never gets tired of coming up with new builds.“I’m on vacation all the time. I do what I love to do. It’s never really work for me. Photo courtesy of Okada Manila</figcaption></figure></div>The Okada Chopper and the Cove Chopper are the first two bikes to be created by OCC for the Philippines. The bikes started from an initial concept and 3D drawings before OCC started fabricating the different parts. It took the OCC team about a month to fabricate and finish the two bespoke bikes to reach the New Year’s Eve launch in the country. “We did one for the casino and one for the Cove where we tried to incorporate the design elements you see here, like the dome structure and the color scheme, into the two bikes. Everything’s hand-crafted on there. I think we came up with a unique design that really represents the brand,” Teutul said.When looking at the finished products, you can indeed see how the stunning bikes take inspiration from Okada Manila’s unique architecture and design.To kick off the New Year countdown, Teutul drove the Cove Chopper onstage at Cove Manila.<div class='embed-wrap'><figure data-feedback='fb:likes,fb:comments'><img src='http://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2018/news/01/04/bike3.jpg' ><figcaption>Solenn Heussaff on the Cove Chopper by Orange County Choppers. Photo by Kara Santos</figcaption></figure></div>The Cove Chopper is a long and low motorcycle that reflects the design aspects of Cove Manila, one of the biggest lifestyle and nightlife destinations in Southeast Asia, which just opened to the public last December 15.The wheels mirror the gigantic dome structure housing the Cove’s indoor beach club and night club. The classic turquoise and white color scheme reflect the beach vibe and cool bayside atmosphere of the beach club as seen in the butterfly-shaped pool in the center of the space and private hot tubs of the luxury cabanas. Meanwhile, the Okada Chopper’s design is rich with complex detail that echoes the casino grounds. The seven circle logo design that is seen throughout the casino is showcased in many aspects of the motorcycle including the wheels, headlight and engine details. “We’re really proud to have designed these one-of-a-kind bikes and we look forward to the lucky ones who will be able to bring home a piece of OCC and Okada Manila with them,” Teutul said. <div class='embed-wrap'><figure data-feedback='fb:likes,fb:comments'><img src='http://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2018/news/01/04/bike4.jpg' ><figcaption>The Okada Chopper by Orange County Choppers. Photo by Kara Santos</figcaption></figure></div>While the custom bike culture is still fairly new in the Philippines, a lot of people will appreciate the amazing details and craftsmanship that went into making these one-of-a-kind luxury bikes. Teutul offers some friendly advice to aspiring bike builders in the country. “If someone’s going to do it, they should have the passion to do it. It’s a process. Don’t think you’re going to build the best chopper the first time out. You have to go through a process of elimination. You have to experiment constantly. But the end result should be what you think the end result should be,” he said.The OCC Okada Chopper and Cove Chopper were revealed to the public to introduce Wheels & Fortune 3: American Graffiti this 2018 where they will be raffled off in the grand draw in June 2018. Ten Harley Davidson Bikes will also be up for grabs during the campaign period. Closing 2017 with a bang, Okada Manila also drew the grand prize winner of a brand new Ferrari California T.
