Mikimoto &amp; Co., Ltd. was the official jeweler of the Miss Universe from 2002 to 2007. Its founder, Kokichi Mikimoto, is considered the first person to culture pearls.</p><p>The company is known for its exquisite designs, using mostly pearls and other precious stones.</p><p>Aside from creating the Miss Universe crown, Mikimoto was also the official jeweler of Miss USA from 2003 to 2008, and Miss Teen USA from 2002 to 2008.</p><p>The Mikimoto crown was first worn by Miss Universe 2002 Oxana Fedorova.
