ABS-CBN’s G Diaries, Halalan 2019 among top picks in 10,000-student poll

<div class="embed-wrap"><figure data-feedback="fb:likes,fb:comments"><img src="http://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2020/life/02/02/20200202-absbcn-awards.jpg?ext=.jpg"/><figcaption>Ernie Lopez (third from left), receives the award from NCST officers for the ABS-CBN program G Diaries, which he now hosts, during a ceremony Friday in the school&#x27;s main Cavite campus.</figcaption></figure></div><p>MANILA—ABS-CBN&#x27;s efforts to drive awareness for the environment, the 2019 elections, and public service endeavors were recognized Friday by students and members of one of the Calabarzon region&#x27;s biggest academic communities. </p><p>The National College of Science and Technology, which its officers said now has at least 10,000 students in its campuses, awarded ABS-CBN&#x27;s eco-tourism program G Diaries, Halalan 2019, and ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation during the 3rd NCST Dangal ng Bayan ceremony in its main campus along Aguinaldo Highway, Dasmariñas City, Cavite. </p><p>Also awarded was News.ABS-CBN.com, the news website of ABS-CBN News, for the category Media Excellence in Information Technology. </p><p>The awards reflected the votes of the NCST school system&#x27;s big student population. NCST&#x27;s main college has about 4,000 students while its senior high school has 2,000. Other campuses include the NCST Institute of Industrial Research and Training, and the National Academy of Science and Technology. </p><p>G Diaries features destinations throughout the Philippines that support ecotourism. The program debuted in 2017 on ABS-CBN as part of special programming, but has so far spanned four seasons. Started by the late Gina Lopez, a pillar of ABS-CBN&#x27;s public service efforts, the travel and lifestyle program is now hosted by her brother, Ernie Lopez. </p><p>Halalan 2019, the Kapamilya network&#x27;s election coverage led by the Integrated News and Current Affairs under Ging Reyes, won out over the 2019 poll coverage mounted by ABS-CBN News&#x27; competitors. </p><p>ABS-CBN News programs <a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/mypuhunan">My Puhunan</a>, <a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/list/tag/matanglawin">Matanglawin</a>, <a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/list/tag/failon-ngayon">Failon Ngayon</a> were also Dangal ng Bayan award recipients, along with ANC&#x27;s On the Money. </p><p>ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation, or <a href="https://corporate.abs-cbn.com/lingkodkapamilya">ABS-CBN Foundation</a>, is a non-profit organization that carries flagship programs on children&#x27;s welfare (Bantay Bata 163), environment preservation (Bantay Kalikasan), and disaster response (Sagip Kapamilya).</p><p>The ABS-CBN Network also notched the &quot;Media Excellence Award for Engineering.&quot; </p><blockquote class="embedly-card"><h4><a href="http://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2020/life/02/02/3rd-ncst-dangal-ng-bayan-list-of-awardees.pdf?ext=.pdf">null</a></h4><p>null</p></blockquote><script async="" src="//cdn.embedly.com/widgets/platform.js" charSet="UTF-8" type="text/javascript"></script>
