<p>MANILA – A Filipino model recently got flak from Singaporeans online after being photographed wearing a “revealing” outfit in the conservative city-state.</p><p>According to a <a href="https://coconuts.co/manila/news/filipino-model-apologizes-getting-shamed-singaporean-netizens-risque-outfit-2/">report </a>by Coconuts Manila, Ashley Garcia was criticized by netizens after photos of her wearing a thin tank top made the rounds on Facebook.</p><p>The photos became viral enough to be published in various websites such as Singapore’s Stomp by The Straits Times and the Chinese daily Lianhe Wanbao.</p><div><script src="https://connect.facebook.net/en_US/sdk.js#xfbml=1&amp;version=v2.5" async="" type="text/javascript"></script></div><div class="fb-post" data-href="https://www.facebook.com/lianhewanbao/posts/2088609451208437" data-width="auto"> </div><p>While she did not do anything illegal or harm anyone, Garcia nevertheless apologized to those who may have been offended by her choice of clothing.</p><p>“Yes, this was me waiting in the ATM queue,” she said in a Facebook post, which showed her photos carried by various publications. </p><p>“I was not aware that somebody took a photo of me… I apologize if I offended any culture [with] this outfit. But please understand that I do not have any obscene or malicious intention by wearing it,” she added. “I am sorry if you think that this was ‘indecent exposure,’ but it was not my intention.”</p><div><script src="https://connect.facebook.net/en_US/sdk.js#xfbml=1&amp;version=v2.5" async="" type="text/javascript"></script></div><div class="fb-post" data-href="https://www.facebook.com/leygarcia11/posts/2335267149838427" data-width="auto"> </div><p>Garcia went on to stress that she was wearing shorts and nipple tape underneath her “risqué” tank top.</p><p>She also had a message for those who kept on shaming her online.</p><p>“To those people who are already hitting me below the belt and criticizing me of something, I respect you. You are already telling [me] things which are too personal [and are] already outside of what you see in the picture,” she said. </p><p>“I was already cyber-shamed, bullied, and threatened by several people because of this.”</p>
