<div class="embed-wrap"><figure data-feedback="fb:likes,fb:comments"><img src="http://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2017/life/04/21/042117-devotee.jpg"/><figcaption><div class="embed-desc">The Divine Mercy Shrine in El Salvador City. <cite>Angelo Andrade, ABS-CBN News</cite></div></figcaption></figure></div><p>MISAMIS ORIENTAL - More than 80,000 devotees are expected to flock to Barangay Ulaliman in El Salvador City during the feast of the Divine Mercy on Sunday.</p><p>Home of the famous 50-foot tall statue of the Divine Mercy, the shrine has been a top destination for pilgrims all over the country.</p><p>Authorities are beefing up security measures as pilgrims arrive at the shrine days before the feast. </p><p>An x-ray machine has been set up to check the baggage of the pilgrims upon entry. Frisking is also implemented before devotees enter the shrine&#x27;s vicinity.</p><p>The Philippine National Police and Armed Forces of the Philippines together with civilian volunteers are expected to be visible in the area starting Friday night.</p><p>Devotees usually stay overnight in the shrine Saturday night for the vigil that will be followed by a dawn procession and a mass.</p>
