CBCP News</figcaption></figure></div>MANILA – The Philippines now has 24 national shrines, the latest being San Antonio de Padua Church in Pila, Laguna.CBCP News <a href="http://cbcpnews.net/cbcpnews/lagunas-san-antonio-de-padua-church-now-a-national-shrine/">reported</a> on Tuesday that San Antonio de Padua Church has been elevated to “national shrine” status, a first for the diocese of San Pablo.The declaration was held during a mass presided by Archbishop Romulo Valles of Davao, with the event attended by more than 2,000 priests, nuns, government officials, and laypeople.According to the CBCP News report, bishops “unanimously” approved last January the petition to proclaim San Antonio de Padua Church as a national shrine.
