Then I got a callback the day after. For the callback, they asked me to go on set with Victoria’s Secret and do like a trial shoot with their whole team,” she said.</p><p>“I couldn’t believe it. I still can’t believe it,” she added. “I’ve been modeling for almost six years now and this has been a goal of mine from the start. The competition is so tough here in New York. I try to go to the gym almost every day. I love going to pilates, and [seeing] my personal trainer at my gym, The Dogpound.”</p><p>“When I found out I was confirmed for the job, I immediately cut out sweets. I have a sweet tooth, so it was definitely tough. The competition is really tough here. There are so many gorgeous girls. But a girl can dream,” she said.</p><p>Merritt is not the only Filipina who got the chance to work with Victoria’s Secret. In 2016, Miss Universe 2012 first runner-up Janine Tugonon was featured in the advertisement of <a href="http://news.abs-cbn.com/life/09/01/16/watch-janine-tugonon-in-victorias-secret-pink-ad" target="_blank">Victoria’s Secret Pink</a>, which is targeted at younger women.</p><p>Tugonon auditioned for the Victoria’s Secret fashion show in the same year, but only made it to the <a href="http://news.abs-cbn.com/life/10/27/16/janine-tugonon-tries-out-for-victorias-secret-fashion-show" target="_blank">final casting</a>.</p>
