Amorsolo painting sells for P46.7 million at auction

<p>MANILA – &quot;Under the Mango Tree&quot; by National Artist Fernando Amorsolo was sold for a whopping P46.7 million at Leon Gallery&#x27;s Spectacular Mid-Year Auction 2018.</p><p>The 1931 oil-on-panel artwork which once belonged to the Conde de Peracramps fetched P46,720,000, besting a previous international record by several millions.</p><div><script src="https://connect.facebook.net/en_US/sdk.js#xfbml=1&amp;version=v2.5" async="" type="text/javascript"></script></div><div class="fb-post" data-href="https://www.facebook.com/LeonGalleryMakati/photos/pcb.1719223218156511/1719222878156545/?type=3&amp;theater" data-width="auto"> </div><p>Other remarkable pieces sold during the auction include Lorenzo Guerrero&#x27;s &quot;At River&#x27;s Bend&quot; at P17,520,000, Jose Rizal&#x27;s &quot;The Filipino&quot; (P17,500,000), and Roberto Chabet&#x27;s &quot;Blind Window&quot;<br/>(P9,344,000).</p><p>Also sold during the auction were the legendary Arnendo Table at P7,600,000, Mark Justiniani’s &quot;Ang Hari (The King)&quot; (P6,424,000), Florencio Concepcion&#x27;s &quot;Abstract&quot; (P2,336,000), and Marciano Galang&#x27;s &quot;Morning Calm&quot; (P2,102,400).</p><p>The Spectacular Mid-Year Auction 2018 was held last June 9.</p>
