<p>MALAYBALAY CITY - If you are a fan of fictional movies like &quot;The Lord of the Rings&quot; and &quot;The Hobbit,&quot; then the 22-hectare Mt. Kitanglad Agro-Eco Farm in Barangay Imbayao, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon is a must-see destination.</p><p>Since 2001, the Maputi family has been developing the farm and this year the family decided to add a new attraction -- the &quot;hobbit homes.&quot;</p><div class="embed-wrap"><figure data-feedback="fb:likes,fb:comments"><img src="http://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2018/tvpatrol/06/23/photo1.jpg"/></figure></div><p>Since the farm is open for campers, the hobbit homes will soon be their new accommodation for tourists.</p><p>&quot;&#x27;Yung husband ko nakita niya ito sa Facebook at dahil nga may hobbit house na-excite ako,&quot; said Richelle Matias who visited the farm for the first time.</p><p>The farm is also known for producing pure citronella oil from their planted citronella grass, an effective mosquito repellent.</p><p>&quot;Yung kita sa citronella ginagamit din namin sa sustainability ng farming namin,&quot; said Benjamin Maputi Sr., the owner of the farm.</p><div class="embed-wrap"><figure data-feedback="fb:likes,fb:comments"><img src="http://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2018/tvpatrol/06/23/photo2.jpg"/></figure></div><p>The farm is located at 1,300 meters above sea level and offers a perfect panoramic view of Malaybalay City.</p><p>The 6.5-hectare eco-walk, which is a home of different tree species, is a favorite spot of bird watchers and photographers looking to have a perfect shot of many bird species.</p><p>Jean Maputi said they want to preserve the farm as much as possible as a way to give back to nature, admitting that their family was once into illegal logging in the &#x27;80s.</p><p>&quot;Nakonsensya ako kasi marami kaming kahoy na naputol. Ngayon &#x27;yung husband ko talagang nagtatanim ng kahoy para mapatawad kami ng Panginoon kasi &#x27;Queen of Loggers&#x27; ako noon,&quot; Maputi said.</p><div class="embed-wrap"><figure data-feedback="fb:likes,fb:comments"><img src="http://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2018/tvpatrol/06/23/photo3.jpg"/></figure></div><p>Barangay Imbayao is 10 kilometers from the city and from the village, the farm is a further 1.5 kilometers away.</p><p>As of now only motorcycles and four-wheel drive vehicles are advisable to go to the farm because of the rough road.</p><p>But the owners of the farm are counting on government agencies to develop the roads leading to the farm, especially now that it is drawing tourists.</p>
