Brazil bet wins Miss Asia Pacific International 2017; PH is 4th runner-up

Also in photo are first runner-up Acacia Walker of New Zealand, second runner-up Valeria Cardona of Honduras, and third runner-up Morgan Doelwijt of the Netherlands. <em>George Calvelo, ABS-CBN News</em></figcaption></figure></div><p>Brazil&#x27;s Francielly Ouriques was crowned Miss Asia Pacific International 2017, while the Philippines&#x27; Ilene de Vera finished fourth runner-up in a pageant held at Resorts World Manila in Pasay City on Wednesday night. </p><p>De Vera, a model from Cebu, was in the top five led by Ouriques, along with first runner-up Acacia Walker of New Zealand, and second runner-up Valeria Cardona of Honduras. </p><p>De Vera was gunning to become the fifth Filipina to win the title, following Ma. Del Carmen Ines Zaragoza (1982), Gloria Dimayacyac (1983), Lorna Legaspi (1989), and Michelle Aldana (1993). </p><p>The other candidate in the top five of this year&#x27;s edition was Netherlands&#x27;s Morgan Doelwijt. </p><p>In the final interview round, Ouriques was asked if the pageant&#x27;s advocacy of promoting fostering love, appreciation, and unity in diversity is relevant in this day and age. </p><p>&quot;I believe that we are all equal before God and all of us should be able to spread love, and spread good things among everybody,&quot; she answered through a translator. </p><p>&quot;Respect, unity, and love are principles that my parents thought me and that everybody should foster that,&quot; she added. </p><p>Formerly Miss Asia Quest, the Manila-based Miss Asia Pacific International aims to promote Philippine tourism overseas. </p><p>Below is the video of the whole pageant: </p><div><script src="https://connect.facebook.net/en_US/sdk.js#xfbml=1&amp;version=v2.5" async="" type="text/javascript"></script></div><div class="fb-post" data-href="https://www.facebook.com/MsAsiaPacificIntl/videos/vb.678764862286771/933899860106602/?type=2&amp;theater" data-width="auto"> </div>
