‘No live voting this year’: Catriona Gray details new Miss Universe format

Europe, Asia and Africa, and North and South America will each have five representatives. The remaining five slots are for the “wild card” candidates, whose selection will be regardless of their continent.</p><p>The top 20 will “will go straight to an opening statement, which means a 15-second statement, and then the judges will cut down to 10,” Gray said.</p><ul class="op-related-articles">	<li><a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/life/12/10/18/uncut-catriona-gray-on-being-a-miss-universe-favorite-feeling-the-love-in-thailand">UNCUT: Catriona Gray on being a Miss Universe favorite, &#x27;feeling the love&#x27; in Thailand</a></li></ul><p>The top 10 will then compete in the evening gown and swimsuit rounds, which would determine the top 5.</p><p>“The top 5 will do Q&amp;A, then the top 3 will do final word and final look, and then coronation,” Gray said.</p><p>Coronation day will happen on December 17 at Impact Arena in Bangkok. Four days before that, the December 13 preliminary competition will determine the top 20, which would be announced during the finale broadcast.</p><p>If Gray succeeds in being crowned Miss Universe, she would be the fourth Filipina to do so after Pia Wurtzbach in 2015, Margie Moran in 1973, and Gloria Diaz in 1969.</p>
