KD Estrada and Alexa Ilacad visited Hong Kong's Cheung Chau island in the music video for the actor's song, "Be With U." Handout

KDLex fans, rejoice: ABS-CBN's Star Music has released the music video for KD Estrada's single "Be With U," which features on-screen partner Alexa Ilacad.

Hong Kong serves as the backdrop for the 3-minute clip, which shows Estrada and Ilacad going from strangers to lovers after a serendipitous meeting.

Their 2023 microfilm "Toss Coin" was also set in Asia's World City.

Just like "Toss Coin," the "Be With U" music video is a result of a collaboration with the Hong Kong Tourism Board, which aims to showcase the city's hidden gems to Filipino travelers.

Peak Galleria Observation Deck

Handout

Enjoy panoramic views of Victoria Peak at this observation deck, just like Estrada and Ilacad at the start of the "Be With U" music video.

It's adjacent to the Peak Galleria mall, making it an ideal stop after a day of shopping.

Cheung Chau

After their first encounter, the KDLex couple bump into each other again at Cheung Chau, which is just a short ferry ride from the city. The island boasts of a lovely waterfront with fishing boats and seafood restaurants, and an annual bun festival.

Ilacad herself was charmed by the place, saying: "Cheung Chau was the perfect place to take it slow on the bike as it's very scenic and there are no cars to chase you down."

Still on Cheung Chau, Estrada and Ilacad shared a sweet bite on the oldest lucky bun bakery on the island.

Kwok Kam Kee makes around 30,000 of these treats, each printed with the Chinese letters for safety, during the Cheung Chau Bun Festival.

"The sweetness is a nice surprise and is different from other steamed buns I've tried," said Ilacad of the buns offered at the shop located at 46 Pak She Street.

Estrada, for his part, said: "The texture is what makes it stand out. It's really filling, nakakabusog siya."

The young stars continued their food trip in the "Be With U" music video as they dropped by Cheung Chau Corner (78 San Hing Street) for a yogurt drink, and at the Welcome Food Court (150 San Hing Back Street) for some giant curry fishballs.

They also tried the famous mango mochi at Wan Sing Dessert (5 San Hing Street), a Cheung Chau favorite.

"Of course, as Filipinos, we had to try to mango mochi," Estrada said. "Just like the ones we had at home, the mochi was very refreshing. Super sarap!"

Their last stop in Cheung Chau was the Love Lock Wall (156 Sun Hing Back Street), a maze of chain metal walls where friends and couples can commemorate their visit to the island.

Like Estrada and Ilacad, you can make a hand-painted portrait on a wooden plaque and add it to Cheung Chau's growing display of expressions of love.

Central and Kowloon

The "Be With U" music video also showed Estrada and Ilacad enjoying the sights and sounds in Hong Kong's Central and Kowloon areas.

Some of the places they visited include the Temple Street Night Market, West Kowloon Waterfront Promenade, and the 60-meter-high Hong Kong Observatory Wheel (33 Man Kwong Street), which is a popular spot for all sorts of romantic gestures. Couples can go all out and book a VIP gondola while gazing down at the city.

The KDLex couple then headed to Central Pier 9, with its glittering lights and calm waters, and exchanged love locks. To those who find the place familiar, a number of scenes from the hit movie "Hello, Love, Goodbye" starring Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards were also shot here.
