MANILA -- The Filipino "bayanihan" spirit is alive for local restaurants who partnered with volunteer networks and offer help to those affected by the Super Typhoon Carina.

As massive floods blocked various areas and some find it difficult to get food supplies due to the inclement weather, the following restos have ways to show their compassion.

Mama Lou's Italian Kitchen

Mama Lou's is opening the doors of its branches in Cavite, Ayala Malls Solenad, BF Homes Las Piñas, Madison Galeries, Evia Lifestyle Center, Ayala Malls North Exchange, Venice Grand Canal Mall, SM City Sto. Tomas, Alabang West Parade, and SM City Clark to those who are stranded. People who can stop by will be given free warm macaroni soup as the storm passes.

Urban Chick Maginhawa

Aiming to provide hot meals for thousands of evacuees in Quezon City, Urban Chick Maginhawa is calling for kind hearts to sponsor a bowl of lugaw for P25 only. This will directly go to affected residents who are staying at the evacuation centers of the area.

Trining's Kitchen

Marikina restaurant Trining's will temporarily close to serve as a soup kitchen headquarters for the following days. Aside from having a donation drive for Marikina Evacuees with Gulay Drive PH, T3 Foundation Inc. PH, and Asian Institute of Management, it is also persuading netizens to sponsor a bowl of hot soup for P50.

Trining's is targeting a minimum of P36,000 to give over 720 bowls to affected citizens.

PARMIGIANO Ristorante Pizzeria

Recognizing the life and safety of its staffers, Parmigiano branches in Alabang, Newport Mall, Uptown Mall, and Gateway Mall 2 are giving free coffee and focaccia bread for their stranded workers.

Azadore

Celebrity chef and book author Chef Tatung's Azadore has opened a donation drive to aid victims of Typhoon Carina.

As of 9:36 on Wednesday, Chef Tatung said they already prepared 300 hot meals to be distributed in evacuation centers around Luzon like the San Roque Elementary School.
