"There was not much chance for kids to interact, make friends, or practice everyday life skills like ordering food or paying for things. Since most of us were behind masks, and the acoustics were blurred, kids were unable to see the teeth, mouth, and lips move when words were formed. As a result, some parents are considering enrolling their kids in a lower grade because they’re shy and not talking much," Araneta explained.

She stressed that language development is a teachable moment between moms and kids. "Language plays a critical role in allowing our kids to flourish, be part of a community, and to be able to get their wants and needs across. If their thoughts and ideas cannot be expressed in a way that we can help them, then there is a divide and challenge that we are facing."

Araneta suggested creating a fun, language-rich environment to boost kids' social and language skills. "We talk, we listen, and we make eye contact with our kids. When kids are engaged in simple, enjoyable activities, they lose track of time. During these moments, you bond and have fun because play is their primary way of learning at this stage," she said.

"PROMIL GOLD® has been an incredible partner. When we became first-time moms, we wanted to learn, understand, and share mommy secrets. We always ask questions: What do you think is best for our son or daughters? Should they do art classes, should they do reading and painting? That’s something that brought Georgina Wilson to Promil Gold because did you know that Promil Gold is the only milk that has Alpha-Lipids? Wyeth Nutrition has done a lot of research to advance brain development, especially in language skills," she said.

"In simple terms, researchers have found that certain nutrients are important for the development of a protective layer around nerve fibers in the brain, which helps messages travel faster between brain cells. This process is called myelination, and is crucial for important brain functions, such as learning language and developing memory. One of these important nutrients clinically proven to support myelination is called Alpha-Lipids. PROMIL GOLD® is the only brand that contains Alpha-Lipids, along with other important nutrients like HMO, choline, DHA, and lutein. These nutrients work together to support brain functions and help with language development," he said.
