Bench/Instagram"/></div><p>R&#x27;Bonney Gabriel is joining a fashion event by the homegrown brand Bench, with the former Miss Universe creating a collection inspired by her Filipino and American roots. </p><p>Dubbed &quot;How to Survive on Land and Sea,&quot; the pieces she designed for Bench Fashion Week Holiday 2024 blend Houston streetwear with Philippine beachwear.</p><p>Each is crafted from recycled materials and other materials like seashells, and features techniques that Gabriel has learned in her 15 years as a designer.</p><p>&quot;I love to focus on sustainability and mixing a polished look with a deconstructed style,&quot; she said in a video posted by Bench on its social media pages. </p><p>&quot;I&#x27;m basically celebrating my Filipino side and my American side,&quot; she added. &quot;I grew up in Houston, Texas which is a big city so I&#x27;m incorporating a lot of streetwear elements.
