<div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/17252830303491725283049212.jpeg" class="fr-fic fr-dib" alt="ABS-CBN"/><span class="fr-inner">ABS-CBN</span></span></span></div><p>MANILA (<strong>UPDATED</strong>) — Alvin Elchico officially joined ABS-CBN flagship newscast &quot;TV Patrol&quot; as an anchor on Monday.</p><p>He replaced veteran TV anchor Henry Omaga-Diaz, who is starting a new chapter of his life abroad.</p><p>Elchico was included in the OBB of &quot;TV Patrol&quot; after bidding farewell to the weekend newscast.</p><div><a class="fr-green fr-strong" href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/lifestyle/2024/8/30/veteran-tv-anchor-henry-omaga-diaz-bids-farewell-to-tv-patrol-2011">READ: Veteran TV anchor Henry Omaga-Diaz bids farewell to &#x27;TV Patrol&#x27;</a></div><p>At the end of the newscast Monday, guest Jose Mari Chan also joined the other anchors Karen Davila, Noli de Castro, and Bernadette Sembrano-Aguinaldo in officially welcoming Elchico in the weekday team.</p><p>Sembrano-Aguinaldo felt like Chan&#x27;s guesting was really meant to welcome Elchico. </p><p>&quot;Para talaga sa &#x27;yo &#x27;to,&quot; she said in jest.</p><p>Prior to joining the weekday newscasts of TV Patrol, Elchico was the anchor of TV Patrol Weekend for 13 years while also concurrently covering the energy and consumer beat.</p><p>He began his career in ABS-CBN as a field reporter, eventually becoming the anchor of TV Patrol Bacolod.
