Former beauty queen Shamcey Supsup has no regrets despite losing the councilor race in the first district of Pasig City.

In an Instagram post, the Miss Universe 2011 third runner-up thanked all of her supporters as she looked back on her campaign.

"We have already won, because we never lost who we are," she began. "In every step of this journey, we chose integrity over shortcuts, truth over convenience, and compassion over division."

"We stood firm in our principles, spoke up for what we believed in, and remained grounded in purpose," she added.

Supsup left the political party Team Kaya last April after the group's candidate for congressman, Ian Sia, came under fire for a crude joke about single moms.

She nevertheless had the support of Arte party-list, which represents members of the fashion, entertainment, and creative sectors.

"This was never just about a position, it was about proving that dignity, honesty, and heart still have a place in public service," Supsup said.

"Thank you for walking with me."

An architect and board topnotcher, Supsup wore the Philippine sash in the 2011 Miss Universe competition, where she finished as third runner-up.

She served as national director of the relatively new Miss Universe Philippines organization since its inaugural edition in 2020 until she filed her candidacy to run as councilor.

Miss Universe 2013 third runner-up Ariella Arida now takes on the role she vacated.
