Tony-nominated 'Maybe Happy Ending' leads 2025 Outer Critics Circle Awards winners

"Maybe Happy Ending" led the pack in the 2025 Outer Critics Circle Awards, with the Tony-nominated show getting four wins.

It won Best New Broadway Musical, Outstanding Book of a Musical, Outstanding Score, and Outstanding Direction of a Musical. 

These are victories shared by the entire cast and crew of "Maybe Happy Ending," which includes Filipino-American actors Darren Criss and Christopher James Tamayo.

Criss, who was also nominated in the 2025 Outer Critics Circle Awards for Outstanding Lead Performer in a Broadway Musical, plays the role of Oliver. 

Tamayo, on the other hand, is a standby for two characters: Gil and Oliver. 

The annual Outer Critics Circle Awards celebrate the best of Broadway and Off-Broadway theater. 

Aside from "Maybe Happy Ending," two other musicals went home with three awards each: "BOOP! The Musical" and "Stranger Things: The First Shadow."
