Bigger because we see the rise in public support so we want a bigger venue. Safer especially maraming nangangamba paano natin magagawang safe ang ating Pride celebration this year... Bolder because we want to maintain and strengthen yung calls natin para sa pagkapantay-pantay ng tao,&quot; Pride PH Coalition National Convenor Vince Liban said.</p><p>&quot;This is not just a celebration, it&#x27;s also a way of gratitude and protest of our community,&quot; Liban added. </p><p>Liban said they want to bank on queer joy in this year&#x27;s celebration. </p><p>&quot;We’re getting stronger and we’re also celebrating queer joy. Queer joy is being able to look at your friend, kahit na sa sobrang daming problema at sasabihin mo sa kanya ang ganda mo ngayon sis. Queer joy is holding the hands of your partner in public kahit na ang raming judgmental sa paligid. We hear the sentiments of the people na to strike a balance between celebrating Pride and ensuring the safety and security of the attendees,&quot; Liban added.</p><div><strong>ACTIVITIES</strong></div><p>This year&#x27;s activities include the Pride March, Pride Expo, Pride Night and Pride Villages or satellite locations for the celebration. </p><p>Pride Villages will be inside Gateway Mall I, along Tomas Morato Avenue and Maginhawa. </p><p>&quot;Pride villages is usually a strategy world Pride celebrations enjoy to accommodate the influx of people. Kasi medyo pang-world Pride na attendance natin. That also shows the growing public support in the Philippines for equality,&quot; Liban said. </p><p>The Pride March will begin at the Oblation Statue then to C.P. Garcia, Katipunan then back to UP Diliman. At least 350 booths will join the Pride Expo, while the Pride Night program with various artists and performers will take place at the Sunken Garden. </p><p>Aside from Quezon City, other local government units like Baguio City, Naga City, Hagonoy in Bulacan, Iloilo City, Negros Occidental, Catarman in Northern Samar, Bohol City, Maguindanao Del Sur, Misamis Oriental and Sultan Kudarat will also join Pride celebrations. </p><p>Pride PH Coalition National Convenor Rodina Singh said they want to show that Pride is open to everybody and they recognize issues of all. </p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/lifestyle/2025/6/16/national-museum-lights-up-facade-in-rainbow-colors-for-pride-month-2239">National Museum lights up façade in rainbow colors for Pride Month</a></div><p>&quot;Sabi nga nila malayo na pero malayo pa. Dahil ngayong taon mas kikilalan natin sa Pride na ang laban ng LGBT ay hindi lamang laban natin, kungdi laban din ito ng kababaihan dahil nakikiisa tayo sa usapin o laban ng kasarian,&quot; Singh said.</p><p>&quot;Ngayong taon napakasunduan natin sa Pride PH na mas maging bukas ang entablado ng Pride PH sa iba pang panawagan katulad sa panawagan ng kakabihan... Kinikilala ng Pride PH and LGBTQIA+ community na ang kababaihan ay hindi iba sa atin at welcome tayo sa Pride,&quot; Singh said.   </p><div><strong>QC BACKING</strong></div><p>QC Mayor Joy Belmonte, UP Diliman Chancellor Edgardo Carlo Vistan II, Pride PH Coalition National Convenors Liban, Tina Romero, Rodina Singh, and Sky Teotico led the MOA signing on Thursday.</p><p>QC Gender and Development Council Secretary Janete Oviedo and UP Diliman Vice Chancellor for Community Affairs Jerwin Agpaoa were also present at the event. </p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/lifestyle/2024/6/19/the-birth-and-progress-of-quezon-citys-right-to-care-card-2332">800 queer couples in line, 423 healthcare providers: The birth and progress of Quezon City&#x27;s &#x27;Right To Care&#x27; card</a></div><p>Belmonte affirmed the QC LGU&#x27;s support for the LGTBQIA+ community. </p><p>&quot;Bukod sa pagdiriwang, ito rin ay panahon ng kolektibong paninidigan. Sama-sama tayong tumitindig sa pantay na karapatan at dignidad ng bawat isa. Ano man ang kanilang kasarian, sexualidad o pagkakakilanlan,&quot; she said. </p><p>Vistan reiterated the UP community&#x27;s &#x27;unwavering support&#x27; for the LGTBQIA+ community. He noted that a lot of &#x27;firsts&#x27; in quality and inclusion took place in the state university, including the first UP Pride celebration in 2008.   </p><p>&quot;UP Diliman offers not just a physical space, but a safe and inclusive space where people can be who they want to be far from the judgment of others,&quot; Vistan said.</p><p>&quot;Without equality and human rights, there can be no honor and excellence. So that is why we are here with you. We affirm our commitment to love, diversity and equality. In UP Diliman, everyone is safe and included,&quot; he added. </p><div><strong>SECURITY</strong></div><p>Organizers will release traffic advisories for motorists, jeepney routes and designated parking areas for attendees.</p><p>The Quezon City LGU said they will deploy 2,000 personnel from the city hall, while the QC Police District will lend 3,000 officers during the event. </p><p>&quot;We&#x27;ll make sure na safe yung activity natin dahil record breaking ito eh... We&#x27;ll make sure yung event natin of the same nature ay mahandle natin ng tama, lahat masaya, walang inapi, walang nabiktima ng mandurukot.... 100% ang effort namin para sa safe at successful event natin,&quot; Ret. Gen. Elmo San Diego of the QC Department of Public Order and Safety. </p><p>San Diego said they are also closely coordinating the Metro Manila Development Authority.
