MANILA — Filipinos can now experience a unique glimpse of post-World War II life through Bahay Modernismo, a newly opened museum nestled in Quezon Memorial Circle.More than just a historical exhibition, this interactive space transports guests back in time, allowing them to experience the architecture, household items, and cultural shifts that shaped post-war Filipino society. Quezon City aims to preserve the essence of the museum as a part of the city&#x27;s identity.<div><iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/GgkEy4ca4Es?&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;rel=0" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen="" class="fr-draggable"></iframe> </div>&quot;Napakaganda nung layunin ng Bahay Modernismo. Kadalasan kasi sa alam natin na kasaysayan ay yung bago magkaroon ng digmaan. Pero ito, dinidiscuss niya yung mga bagay na nangyari after ng war. Paano tayo bumangon bilang isang bansa?&quot; Architect Praise Diokno, senior project manager for QC Museums and Historic Sites, explained.Visitors can interact with various rooms, including a living room featuring vintage television sets that still function, providing a glimpse into the entertainment of the mid-20th century. One more highlight is the spoon and fork model in the dining area, which signified the status and wealth of a family back then.&quot;Yung mga upuan, pwede mo silang upuan mismo, pwede mong makita at mapakinggan kung ano yung mga nasa TV talaga. And it&#x27;s really an experience. Interactive yung museum na yun. Para kang tumitira doon sa panahon na yun,&quot; Diokno said.Beyond household innovations, the museum explores the broader socio-political context of the time. It highlights how Quezon City became a beacon of optimism for Filipinos seeking to rebuild their lives after the war. With new housing projects and government institutions relocating to the area, the city became a crucial part of the country&#x27;s recovery.&quot;Importante na makita natin ito dahil nakikita natin na sinubukan nga talaga ng mga Pilipino na bumangon,&quot; Diokno emphasized.The Bahay Modernismo museum also features elements from the original Aquino bungalow home on Time Street, adding another layer to its authenticity. Guests can see firsthand how domestic spaces evolved, showcasing the fusion of tradition and modernity that defined Filipino homes in that era.Open to the public from Tuesday to Sunday, 9 a.m.  to 4 p.m., the museum welcomes all visitors free of charge — an initiative by the Quezon City government to ensure accessible cultural education for its residents.&quot;Lahat po ng museo under ng Quezon City government ay libre para sa lahat ng QC-itizen.
