Karen Flores Layno, ABS-CBN News/File "/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left">Limestone cliffs of Palawan. <em>Karen Flores Layno, ABS-CBN News/File </em></span></span></span></div><p>The Philippines is nominated in the 24th edition of the Wanderlust Reader Travel Awards, and is among the contenders for &quot;most desirable country&quot; worldwide.</p><p>The Department of Tourism made the announcement on Monday as it encouraged Filipinos to help the country win in the vote-based awards held by the United Kingdom-based travel magazine Wanderlust. </p><p>Aside from being in the running for Most Desirable Country (Worldwide), two of the Philippines&#x27; top destinations also scored nominations: Cebu for Most Desirable Region (Worldwide) and Palawan for Most Desirable Island (Worldwide).</p><p>The country can also win in subcategories under Most Desirable Country such as Culture and Heritage, Nature and Wildlife, Adventure, Gastronomy, and Sustainability. </p><p>Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco welcomed the nominations, saying these help efforts to promote the Philippines as a top travel destination.</p><p>She also called on the public to show their support by casting their votes on the <a href="https://wanderlusttravelawards.com/">Wanderlust Reader Travel Awards website</a>. </p><p>&quot;Let us show the world how our love for this country, teeming with natural wonders, a rich culture and heritage, and a people that are always welcoming to guests near and far, will help boost our reputation as a leading destination to love,&quot; Frasco said in a statement. </p><p>The results of the Wanderlust Reader Travel Awards will be determined by the public, and voting runs until October 27.</p><p>The awarding ceremony will be held on November 5 at the National Gallery in London. </p><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/lifestyle/2025/4/21/pampanga-aurora-province-nominated-in-2025-world-travel-awards-1737">Pampanga, Aurora province nominated in 2025 World Travel Awards</a></div><div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/lifestyle/2025/5/1/these-ph-properties-are-nominated-in-the-2025-world-travel-awards-1624">These PH properties are nominated in the 2025 World Travel Awards</a></div>
