Now on its third run, the musical emerges as a timely call to “Tumindig at Umibig… pa more!” blending comedy, romance, satire, and subversion to reflect the intersection of love, identity, and revolution in today’s generation.This year’s revival makes waves with its revolutionary and inclusive casting, particularly spotlighting members of the LGBTQIA+ community in pivotal roles.One of the most talked-about new cast members is Lance Reblando, a proud trans woman, who shared her gratitude and hope for more inclusive representation in Philippine theater.“Sobrang nakakataba sa puso and it’s an honor… I never thought na maka-cast ako sa role na ‘to. Never in my mind na nag-cross sa utak ko na pwede pala,” she said. “Siguro ako yung dapat mauna para I’m the one who’s gonna walk so they would be able to run in the future.”A Star Magicb artist, Reblando emphasized how visibility and casting without judgment of gender identity can open doors for more aspiring trans performers: “Mapapanood nila and malalaman nila na kaya naman pala eh. And pwede! Hindi hinusgahan &#x27;yung gender identity niya… kinast siya kasi kaya niya yung role.”Also joining the cast is singer-songwriter Ice Seguerra, who takes on the role of Lucas.Reblando praised the ease and respect shown to them during the casting process. “No ifs, no buts. Parang kinuha kami kasi bagay kami sa role,” she said.Adding star power to the ensemble is singer-actress Jolina Magdangal, who makes her theater debut in this production. Magdangal was present during the show’s press preview but was unable to speak due to a swollen throat. Her doctors have advised a seven-day voice rest.The latest version of “Walang Aray” doesn’t just entertain, it challenges norms, invites reflection, and dares its audience to see love and revolution through an expanded, inclusive lens.<div> </div><div>&quot;Walang Aray&quot; runs from August 29 to October 12, 2025, at the PETA Theater Center, Quezon City.</div>
