The road to the Miss Grand Philippines 2025 crown grew even brighter as the 29 official candidates dazzled at the charity gala night and preliminary competitions, held just days before the much-awaited coronation on August 24.During the preliminaries on Sunday, the candidates showcased their beauty, talent, and creativity through three segments: national costume, swimsuit, and evening gown.For the National Costume Competition, the stage transformed into a colorful celebration of Filipino pop culture. Designs ranged from jeepney-inspired ensembles to tributes to Filipino icons such as Jolina Magdangal and even a quirky karaoke-box costume.One of the most talked-about looks was from Rona Rabina of Tanay, Rizal, who donned a karaoke-inspired creation.“So basically our theme for tonight is pop culture, and of course we know that everyone, every Filipino, loves to sing. And not only sing but also, you know, have a little drink sometimes, have a little bit of laughter. And another fun fact is our family in Tanay, Rizal is also known for being good singers, so it was such a creative idea for my designer and I to collaborate on the idea of having a personal touch with Filipino culture,” Rabina shared. <div> </div><div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/17554799415651755478343555d7af318f-6766-49e6-9674-259716669f55.webp" style="width:950px" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/></div><div> </div>From Rizal’s karaoke box to Ilocos Sur’s mythical twist, creativity reigned supreme. Princess Tacazon of Ilocos Sur stunned the crowd in her Galema-inspired costume, complete with snake details that paid homage to both the teleserye and the province’s famed Baluarte Zoo. “This is actually inspired by the teleserie called &#x27;Galema.&#x27; And his father is actually this one. That&#x27;s the very one thing that I will carry tonight will slay! Actually I feel very grateful from the fact that it is my very first time for the national stage,” Tacazon declared.At the end of the competition, six candidates emerged as Top 6 in Cultural Costume:    •    Angelica Joy Flores (Pangasinan)    •    Nikki Buenafe Cheve (Quezon City)    •    Michelle Arceo (Taguig City)    •    Anita Rose Gomez (Zambales)    •    Emma Mary Tiglao (Pampanga)    •    Alyssa Geronimo (Nueva Ecija)The candidates also impressed in their swimsuit segment and later lit up the stage in their evening gowns. Gowns of varying silhouettes and colors displayed elegance and sophistication, with Emma Mary Tiglao of Pampanga, Michelle Arceo of Taguig City, and Anita Rose Gomez of Zambales standing out as crowd favorites.The charity gala highlighted the candidates’ advocacies, while the preliminaries gave the audience and judges a glimpse of the candidates’ stage presence ahead of the final night.
