Carlo Ople/FacebookMANILA — A group of content creators and influencers on Thursday launched Creators Against Corruption, a collective aiming to use their platforms to demand accountability and transparency from government officials.</div>The movement’s founding members, which include digital entrepreneur Carlo Ople, Chris Tan, Mark Gamboa of Models of Manila, and TikTok personalities Gabriel and Julia Pineda, unveiled a manifesto calling for an end to what they describe as the persistent erosion of public trust caused by corruption.“A digital fire has been lit,” the manifesto reads. “We, the undersigned creators and influencers, are no longer content to simply entertain. Our platforms, built on trust and community, have become something more: a megaphone for the people.”The launch coincides with public outrage over a <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/9/11/lawyers-file-petition-for-writ-of-kalikasan-over-ghost-projects-misused-billions-1813">massive corruption scandal involving flood-control projects</a>, with <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/9/9/ex-dpwh-engineer-tags-estrada-villanueva-in-alleged-flood-control-anomalies-1055">several lawmakers implicated</a> in a scheme demanding kickbacks from contractors. The controversy has prompted President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to announce<a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/9/11/marcos-announces-creation-of-independent-body-on-flood-control-probe-1412"> the creation of an independent commission to investigate the allegations</a>.The manifesto emphasizes that public trust “is a currency that&#x27;s been devalued by backroom deals, hidden agendas, and a stunning lack of accountability.” It pledges that members will “use our voices, our art, and our influence to demand transparency,” adding that “we will not be silenced by intimidation or dismissed as mere entertainers.”Ople, in a Facebook post, said, “Kadiri na ang corruption sa Pilipinas and we need to make a stand… To my fellow creators, we are stronger and safer together. It’s time to speak up. Di na pwede sidelines lang tayo.”The manifesto also states, “We demand accountability. Those who betray the public trust must face the consequences, regardless of their position or power. We will use our reach to expose wrongdoing, amplify the voices of whistleblowers, and ensure that these actions are not swept under the rug.”The group started with an initial roster of 19 creators but said it will continue to grow in the coming months. “From this day forward, our platforms will be a tool for truth. We will be relentless. We will be loud. We will be a mirror held up to power, and we will not look away until justice is served,” the manifesto concludes.
