<div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1758079296102UNDERTALE.png" style="width:950px" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/>Photo from Toby Fox&#x27;s X account</div>In celebration of its 10th anniversary, the indie role-playing game &quot;Undertale&quot; will hold a special playthrough streaming.“For UNDERTALE&#x27;s 10th anniversary, we are going to do 2 consecutive days of streams where we play through the game,” developer Toby Fox said in a recent X (formerly Twitter) post.Fox invited fans on X to a &quot;charity donation battle&quot; where they will have the chance to submit name suggestions, with the winner being picked as the name to be used at the start of the playthrough.Fox held a similar event during the game’s sixth anniversary back in 2021 where he played the first chapter of Deltarune, the sequel to the indie game classic.The anniversary event will be streamed on Twitch on September 20 to 21 at 4 p.m. PST (or September 21 to 22 at 7 a.m. Philippine time).“When we tried playing through everything, it took over 8 hours. So, we had to split it up. We&#x27;ll have to play half of the game one day, and half of the game the next day,” Fox said in a newsletter containing updates about him and his plans.In the same newsletter, Fox mentioned how he wanted to share his thoughts on Chapters 3 and 4 of Deltarune, but said that he “doesn’t have time right now.”“The anniversary is coming up. There is no time to discuss this now,” he said.The developer treated fans to a surprise saying, “Instead, let&#x27;s talk about Chapter 5,” which is slated for release by the second half of 2026, according to the newsletter.The developer shared a spoiler from the upcoming chapter, saying, “That being said, as an act of goodwill, I would like to spoil one optional Castle Town scene. This scene assumes you have seen the Special Room in Chapter 4.” Fox described the making of Chapter 5 as &quot;not without hurdles,&quot; but said that the early parts of the chapter are finished &quot;but need polishing in certain areas.&quot;“Maybe the last 40 percent-or-so of the game is in a ‘rough first pass&#x27; state, and the last 10 percent is in a ‘prototyping’ state,” he said. “Probably around 85 percent of cutscenes have been created up to a first draft state, however, of those at least 20 percent or so will require more polish.”Aside from game updates, he also revealed that he will be a voice actor for &quot;Homestuck: The Animated Pilot,&quot; a comic book adaptation of the same name which Fox previously worked on as a composer. He plays John Egbert, one of the main protagonists in the show. “If you haven&#x27;t heard of Homestuck, it was the webcomic that basically launched my career. So... I really owe a lot to Homestuck! It made me better at music, allowed me to make my game, connected me with many important friendships, and it taught me lessons on how to deal with fandom and the importance of valuing your fans,” he said. Fox composed new tracks for the remake of the French game OFF, which served as inspiration for the iconic characters Sans and Papyrus, which are free to download.New fan merch and musical albums were also revealed in the newsletter.“10 years passing is annoying… Does that mean I&#x27;m annoying? Anyway, I&#x27;ll save my words for the event,” Fox said. First released in 2015, &quot;Undertale&quot; follows the story of a child who falls in the Underground, a world filled with monsters where players can embark in various routes to obtain different endings. Its success spawned a sequel, &quot;Deltarune,&quot; which is set on an alternate timeline of its predecessor.
