But instead, I also received so much hate. People said I wasn&#x27;t their cup of tea. Others assumed I wasn&#x27;t the candidate they expected to win. Worst of all, some accused me of rigging the pageant or cheating -- claims that are completely unacceptable and untrue,&quot; she recalled.</p><p>Lorenzo said she chose to keep quiet and focus on her training for the pageant. She may not have won the crown -- which went to Midori Monet of the United States -- but the Filipina beauty queen chooses to &quot;always stand proud and tall.&quot;</p><p>&quot;Because I fought for my dream, for my country, and for the little girl inside me who once wished for this moment,&quot; she said. </p><p>She also reminded those who keep trying to limit and destroy other people&#x27;s dreams to &quot;wake up.&quot;</p><p>&quot;You still have a chance to change your perspective. Never, ever limit the dreams of others. If your words cannot help someone grow, then it is better to not say them at all,&quot; she said. </p><p>&quot;Because at the end of the day, dreams are sacred.
