Photo courtesy of Ryla Tuazon/The Flame</div>MANILA – Filipino online users on Sunday staged their own protests against government corruption on the game creation platform Roblox.Those who could not attend the September 21 rally at Rizal Park in Manila took to the streets of a digital simulation of the national park to denounce government corruption in anomalous flood control projects.Game avatars were seen holding placards bearing statements against the recent infrastructure scandal and the individuals that have been linked to the issue through Senate and House probes.The virtual protests were held in the game titled “Pinoy RP Hangout Luneta Server,” where users can also speak into microphones and sell taho.X (former Twitter) user @achoochiii posted about the event, saying “the rally may be silly but it’s a way for people who are unable to go to the actual rally to show their support for the Filipinos and fight against corruption.”Mainly two mass demonstrations occurred on Sept. 21, which is the 53rd anniversary of former president Ferdinand Marcos Sr.’s declaration of martial law. Tens of thousands of Filipinos attended the protest in Luneta and the “Trillion Peso March” that took place at the EDSA Shrine and People Power Monument.Meanwhile, riots erupted along Mendiola Street, as some apprehended youth <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/nation/2025/9/22/mendiola-rioters-wanted-to-copy-riots-in-other-countries-ncrpo-1033">supposedly sought to mimic </a>demonstrations in other countries, according to the National Capital Region Police Office.
