It was always progressing,&quot; Gibson told Bloomberg.&quot;It’s just the case that we’re a small team, and games take a lot of time. There wasn’t any big controversial moment behind it,&quot; he added.It was not until 2022 when Silksong returned to the public eye. On June 13, 2022, the official X account of Xbox <a href="https://x.com/Xbox/status/1536035818275487746">posted on X</a> that Silksong would release before June 2023.This was eventually retracted by Team Cherry’s marketing and publishing lead Matthew Griffin the following year where he <a href="https://x.com/griffinmatta/status/1656106351184199680?lang=en">clarified in an X post</a> that they &quot;had planned to release in the 1st half of 2023, but development is continuing.&quot;Released in 2017, &quot;Hollow Knight&quot; follows the Knight, who explores Hallownest, an underground kingdom plagued by a mysterious infection. Its sequel, &quot;Silksong,&quot; shifts the setting to the fallen kingdom of Pharloom and centers on Hornet, the former princess of the previous kingdom.
