Young Filipinos are set to gain valuable lessons on saving, money management, and entrepreneurship as Knowledge Channel Foundation Inc. (KCFI) and BPI Foundation officially launched new episodes of Estudyantipid, a financial literacy campaign series designed for Grades 8 to 10. The on-site launch took place at Rizal High School in Pasig City, gathering students, educators, and advocates for financial literacy.The new episodes tackle two timely topics: protecting oneself against scams and fraud in the digital age, and understanding the basics of gross and net profit for budding entrepreneurs.Rina Lopez, president and executive director of KCFI, emphasized the importance of introducing financial literacy to young learners.“We live with money all our lives, and we need to learn better how to manage it,” Lopez explained. “These episodes are very important because everybody has a phone, and just one click can make you lose everything to scams. At the same time, we want kids to know what it means to have a business and to understand profit and net income. Over the years, we’ve produced many episodes across subjects, but this one is special because it strengthens the foundations of financial awareness,” she said.</div>Carmina Marquez, executive director of BPI Foundation, said the campaign is aligned with the foundation’s mission to improve financial literacy nationwide.“One of our core pillars is really financial education, and Estudyantipid is one of our ways to teach the basics of saving and money management,” Marquez shared. “It’s best to start young. We’d rather be preventive than reactive.”She also highlighted the entrepreneurial focus of the second episode: “We want students to understand revenue, cost of goods sold, and profit so they can grow into strong entrepreneurs and business leaders in the future.”Adding a fun twist to the campaign, comedian and author Stanley Chi joins the episodes as &#x27;Tito Manny,&#x27; the owner of Manny’s Merienda.“Financial literacy is very important for students, especially now. Kids today are lucky to have something like this from Knowledge Channel and BPI Foundation,” Chi said. “My character is Tito Manny. I&#x27;m the owner of Manny&#x27;s Merienda. &#x27;Yung parang karinderiya doon. And then I&#x27;m teaching the students kung paano &#x27;yung mga investments, paano umiwas sa scam, at hindi mauto sa mga fraud na ganyan.”Chi added that he enjoys blending humor with lessons to keep young viewers engaged: “Sometimes may mga improv kami, pero we really follow the script din.“Both foundations hope that &#x27;Estudyantipid&#x27; will not only help students but also influence their families and communities. With fraud and online scams becoming more rampant and with many young people aspiring to become entrepreneurs, the campaign aims to equip the next generation with practical skills to navigate real-world challenges.“We want to start early because we believe that learning things early will help us have better lives and better choices,“  Lopez said.
