<p>MANILA -- Tiktok, the brave aspin who was rescued after being stabbed with multiple arrows in Murcia, Negros Occidental, has died after being hit by a car while in foster care. </p><p>BACH Project PH, a Bacolod-based animal welfare group, confirmed her passing in a statement on Sunday, calling her loss &quot;one of the greatest heartbreaks&quot; they have faced. </p><p>“As rescuers, we carry so much guilt when tragedies like this happen, even when we know we did our best. She was supposed to be safe. She was supposed to have more time. The &#x27;what ifs&#x27; are endless, and the pain of losing her is unbearable,” BACH said. </p><p>The group explained that the dog “slipped out, ran, and was hit by a car.” Tiktok was placed in foster care as their shelter continues to battle a distemper outbreak and they wanted to ensure her safety and well-being. </p><p>Tiktok was surrounded with love and comfort in her foster home, “but fate dealt a cruel hand,” they added. </p><p>BACH is asking for compassion and understanding from the community during this painful time. The supposed month of celebration, in time for the group’s 6th founding anniversary has instead become a period of mourning, as they grappled with the loss of several rescues due to distemper and blood parasite outbreaks—and now, the tragic passing of Tiktok. </p><p>“Instead of blame, may we honor Tiktok’s memory with love because that’s all she gave, and that’s what she deserves,” BACH expressed in a post. </p><p>The group is still not certain who was the driver that hit Tiktok. In light with this, they urged the public to refrain from making assumptions and directing blame at anyone. BACH promised that an official update will be shared once all details are confirmed. </p><p>Tiktok was first known to the public after being rescued in Murcia, Negros Occidental with five arrows embedded in her body. Beaming with a radiant smile, Tiktok and her Tita Nana crossed the finish line at the Athlerun Pawtection Run. </p><p>BACH also shared arts and poems as a tribute to Tiktok.
