The meeting focused on religious liberty, faith-based partnerships, and issues affecting faith communities</div>WASHINGTON, D.C. — Filipino religious leaders joined Christian pastors, Buddhist monks, Hindu leaders, rabbis and other faith representatives from across the United States at a White House Faith Office dialogue on religious liberty, faith-based partnerships and concerns affecting faith groups.US President Donald Trump established the White House Faith Office in February 2025. The office operates under the White House Domestic Policy Council. According to the White House, it was created to give people of faith a voice in federal policymaking and to protect religious liberty. It also works with faith-based organizations and coordinates faith liaisons across federal agencies.Among the Filipino participants was Pastor Raymund Remo, a minister of music and composer of the popular Filipino Christian worship song &quot;Ang Tanging Alay Ko.&quot; He attended the briefing with his wife, Betty Remo, who serves with him in ministry.“It was a real blessing for us to be invited to this faith-based briefing at the White House,” Remo said. “I wasn’t expecting such a large gathering, and I was surprised to see religious leaders and pastors representing several states.”Remo said he appreciated hearing discussions about religious freedom and the place of faith in public life. He also said he was surprised to learn that people pray with the President in the Oval Office.“I hope that continues every day,” he said. “I am grateful that President Trump established the Faith Office with the desire that decisions would be guided by the wisdom of God. I also hope other countries will be encouraged to strengthen dialogue with faith communities while respecting religious freedom.”Another Filipino participant, Herman Martir, described Trump as “a champion of faith” and said the White House Faith Office gives Christians and other people of faith a voice in the nation.“Without faith, it is impossible to please God,” Martir said. “This nation becomes stronger because of the men and women of faith who continue to pray for America.”Jennifer S. Korn, White House Faith Director and Deputy Assistant to the President, thanked the participants for attending the dialogue.“We’re so grateful for all of you. God bless you, and we welcome all faith here at the White House,” Korn said.The briefing also included remarks from Sebastian Gorka, who discussed the administration’s national security priorities. He spoke about religious liberty, freedom of speech and threats posed by extremist groups.The gathering included Christians, Buddhists, Hindus, Jews and representatives of other faith traditions. For the Filipino delegates, the event gave them a place in a national discussion on faith and public policy and allowed them to represent Filipinos in the United States.According to the White House, the Faith Office will continue meeting with religious leaders and faith-based organizations about religious liberty, partnerships with local groups and public service.
