IPRA Philippines launches ‘PR Matters’ digital series for everyday communication tips

IPRA Philippines chairperson Claire Papa, past chairpersons Joy Buensalido and Jingjing Romero, and Abigail Ho-Torres discuss topics including influencer promotions, why some stories make the news, and the differences between public relations, advertising and marketing.&ldquo;PR IRL,&rdquo; released Wednesdays, looks at real-life communication cases and issues that have made headlines. IPRA Philippines vice chair Kane Errol Choa, director Charisse Chuidian, past chair Noel Nieva, and secretary Rowena Capulong Reyes revisit these cases and discuss lessons that can still be applied today.On Fridays, &ldquo;PReady FR FR,&rdquo; featuring IPRA Philippines treasurer Wilford Wong and past chairperson Millie Dizon, offers practical advice on navigating social media and everyday communication. Topics include what to consider before posting online, why people should think twice before forwarding messages, navigating cancel culture, and how social media habits can affect how others perceive them.&ldquo;PR Matters&rdquo; began as a weekly column on public relations and communication. In 2023, IPRA Philippines published &ldquo;PR Matters: A Communicator&rsquo;s Guide to Public Relations in the Philippines&rdquo; and has since brought PR practitioners to students through its CommuniTalks sessions at the University of the Philippines Diliman, Far Eastern University and Centro Escolar University.IPRA Philippines is the Philippine chapter of the International Public Relations Association, a global organization of public relations professionals.&ldquo;PR Matters&rdquo; is available on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and Facebook, with new episodes released every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
