<p><strong>Milan Fashion Week</strong> may have flown by in a whirlwind, yet it was this season’s most jam-packed calendar so far. From Italy’s power house names (the recognizable Gucci, Prada, and Versace) to the modern tastemakers redefining fashion, the F/W ‘25 season is everything from contemporary and artisanal to daring and experimental. Though the Italian house currently holds no creative director at its reins, the F/W ‘25 collection was designed by the in-house team following the recent departure of designer Sabato de Sarno. A fresh start, Gucci presented a runway that blended a history of its house codes with nods to the 1960s mod revival and its 1990s Tom Ford era. An overall classic yet contemporary collection, Gucci gives a lesson on colorful dressing, adding a fun spin to the fall-winter wardrobe with its experimental textiles (including bejeweled knits and a tortoise shell-print coat), color popping, and Horesbit details all around (from bags to anklets and necklaces). </p><div style="text-align:center"><strong>DSquared2</strong></div><div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/17411700670552-DSquared2.JPG" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/><span class="fr-inner">Photo from DSquared2</span></span></span>Bold, rebellious, and provocative, the DSquared2 runway was quite the production. Set by the facade of an NYC nightclub, the show presented a lineup of characters: from the cowboys and the rockers to the divas and the gentlemen. The runway was opened and closed by Doechii. Like urban fashion, you’ll find a diverse range of garments, with laidback graphic tees and cargo shorts mixed with luxurious furs and crystal-embellished dresses. Like a wardrobe for a chic Milanese couple, the collection was an abundance of well-crafted leather goods, tailored outerwear, and, of course, furs—from head to toe. Bedazzled textiles once again resurface on the MFW runway, with tweeds and knits decorated with chunky appliqué. Newly appointed creative director David Koma takes inspiration from Italian cinema, dressing the classic femme fatale with a rock and roll edge. The result is a runway of grown-up tastes, structured silhouettes, and the occasional touch of florals. Spaghetti, trash bags, and a bag of Pepperidge Farm cookies—everyday objects are turned into luxury pieces thanks to the vision of designer Adrian Appiolaza. Entitled “Collezione 04”, the collection was all about the “quiet joys”, where the fun lies in the small details.
