Handout</div>Spinneys, a fresh food supermarket chain based in the United Arab Emirates, is set to open stores across Metro Manila starting this year. Under its partnership with ACX Holdings, the retail arm of the Philippines&#x27; Ayala Corp., Spinneys will launch 12 branches over the next four years beginning the fourth quarter of 2026.And the first two locations have been announced: UP Town Center in Quezon City and San Antonio Plaza Arcade in Makati.As a premium brand, Spinneys is poised to complement Filipinos&#x27; grocery experience with its mix of curated imported items with high-quality private labels tailored to local tastes. Customers can also expect personalized service and in-store education on food, nutrition, and every day cooking, as well as contemporary store layouts.&quot;Spinneys is a valuable addition to the Philippine grocery landscape,&quot; noted Mariana Zobel de Ayala, managing director of Ayala Corp. and head of leasing and hospitality at Ayala Land.&quot;Premium grocery retail today is about more than what’s on the shelves – it&#x27;s about curation, service, and the joy of discovery,&quot; she added. &quot;The entry of Spinneys brings a new dimension to grocery shopping, expanding the range of choices available locally and further enriching our dynamic retail landscape.&quot;Spinneys&#x27; partnership with Ayala Corp. is its first expansion outside the Gulf Cooperation Council, where the supermarket chain employs a large number of Filipino workers.The move is seen to strengthen avenues for Filipinos seeking employment opportunities abroad, as well as create pathways for overseas workers to return home.
