Bar Pintxos brings Spanish favorites to HEAT at Edsa Shangri-La

<div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:960px;display:block" width="960"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1773398949639Chef Mikel Arregi.jpg" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="960"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left">Chef Mikel Arregi. <em>Jeeves de Veyra</em></span></span></span></div><p>Edsa Shangri-La’s all-day dining restaurant HEAT opens up its international counter to serve up Catalan and Basque specialties from Bar Pintxos.</p><p>While HEAT has welcomed international guests featuring the Hainanese chicken Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant Tiong Bahru from Singapore, and Mongolian cuisine from Shangri-La Ulaanbaatar, this collaboration with Bar Pintxos marks the first partnership with a local restaurant.</p><p>Carlo Lorenzana of Grupo Pintxos, which has Bar Pintxos alongside fine dining restaurants Txoko Asador, and Michelin Select recognized Goxo in its portfolio, cites Edsa Shangri-La’s general manager Stanley Lo as the proponent of having Bar Pintxos at Heat. Lorenzana has worked with Lo, but as a partner of Spanish steakhouse La Cabrera that is a tenant of the hotel.</p><p>Grupo Pintxos general manager Albert Martinez and chef Mikel Arregi curated a list of Bar Pintxos all time favorites for its space at the HEAT’s international counter. They have the Regatta which looks like a sailboat with a piece of ham as a sail, salmon with caviar, and the Jamon Allioli with a heaping serving of minced Jamon Serrano with aioli.  The must-get pintxo is the foie gras with apple compote. With just several servings of this makes the price of admission totally worth it.</p><p>The mains are elegantly simple yet flavor packed. The Pulpo A la Gallega is octopus cooked the Galician way, with just a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil and sprinkles of smoked paprika. The Tapa De Txuleta is lightly seared, red and rare inside, and just seasoned with salt and pepper. However red it may be. Make sure to get some of that delectable soccarat with the Paella Mixta loaded with shrimp, chorizo, and chicken.</p><p>For dessert, have some of their Basque Cheesecake.
